You don't need to be cute, be yourself! Because that's who she's gonna be going with anyway. She's gonna be going with YOU, not 'the cute guy'. Unless you are the cute guy xD Which I wouldn't know, because I don't know you too well =P

I'm a girl. I have prom coming up in.. about 3 years =P If a guy asks me to prom, I'd want him to just be himself. Plus, if he's a guy I've known for a while, I'd want him to just be himself, cuz that's the guy that I grew to like in the first place.
