Chapter 14:
We're here. Ghost thought toward Max and Kirstin, who he knew were awaiting his arrival in the chamber. After making their way down to the second half of the chamber, and withdrawing the stones, Max showed him the stone he had retrieved from the corpse of the Light Hexan. "The Light Hexan we encountered was the kinsmen of the one you killed. He had the stone, no doubt attempting to use it's power for his own means of revenge." Max told him without looking away from the two slots in the massive gates. Ghost motioned for Josh to go toward the door with the stone, and put it in at the same time he did. After they did, the doors made a loud thumping sound, and then the doors moved inware, the stones staying where they had previously been. "They float now?" Josh asked curiously. "We'll never fully grasp the stone's powers." Ghost thought aloud. "Either way, I want to get back and relax." Max said, and moved forward to retrieve the stone. As he did, a large basalisk fell from the ceiling, hissing in anger. "Don't look at it's eyes!" Kirstin yelled looking down.
As the basalisk coiled up in preperation to strike, Ghost let loose a soul vacume in the direction that the basalisk was in. As soon as it was launched, the snake stopped it's assualt, and dropped to the ground to avoid the attack. After the snake fell to the ground, Ghost shot beams of energy at the snakes head. As it slung it's head up to avoid the attack, the soul vacume hit the back of it's head, and it's eyes turned a bright white, the rest of it's body a crimson red, and then it hit the ground with a massive thud. "Shame we had to kill such an old and powerful creature..." Josh commented remorsefully. "It attacked us, so we defended ourselves. It's nature for you. Let's just get the stone before anymore traps spring." Ghost said wary of the enviroment they were in. Max bounded forward, grabbed the stone, and then start to bound back, when another two large stone statues came to life. "This again?" Ghost asked irritated. Within seconds Josh and Ghost shot beams of energy into the heads of the stone figures, destroying them. After getting the stone, the group left the cave and began to fly back to the academy. 4 stones in our possession now, we have shown the light hexans that we're too strong for them, and with these stones, our power should triple! Hahaha, it should be a walk in the park to get those other 2 stones. Ghost thought toward them. Success breeds arrogence, and arrogence breeds mistakes. Be careful not to get too cocky now. Josh thought in response, looking cautious. You need to relax and embrace that power of yours. You'll have more fun. Ghost thought toward him.
"That is excellent news. I will admit that I was a bit worried, since the Light Hexans are raising hell about your killing of the headmaster, and about 24 of their soldiers, and that they were threatening taking military action to retrieve you kids, but with your sucess, the general will not give you up. Ontop of that, we'll be more powerful than ever. The Light Hexans wouldn't dare stand against you all." The headmaster said in a gleeful tone. "Honestly, after we retrieve all the stones, we're gonna be draining that power for weeks before we start sharing it with the other soldiers. But after that, it should advance your soldiers beyond your expectations." Max replied to the headmaster. "That's fine, so long as they get the power, and we destroy those Light Hexans." The headmaster said in a menacing tone.
Chapter 15:
"Welcome home," The headmaster told them with an excited expression on his face. In the courtyard. "Glad to be back." Ghost commented. "I hope we can get a pardon from classes, cause I'm exhuasted." Josh said prying for an answer. "I agree." the rest of the group said. "You've done well, and done allot of work. Go ahead and take your break, I'll alert your teachers to your pardon." The headmaster told them, shook their hands, and then walked back to his office. "Exciting week, guys. And we get to skip classes for another week!" Ghost said with a grin. "I think we should absorb the power from the stones during the week. The next challenges might not be as easy as these have been." Max commented while they began to make their way toward their dorms. "Hey, you there!" Yelled a Dark Hexan student from in the garden. A group followed him as they made their way to the children. "Do you need something?" Ghost asked with little patience. "How'd you actually get accepted? You're Light Hexan scum." The boy said, and his friends began to laugh. Ghost withdrew his sword, his temper running high. "That's enough, you idiots." Jaxon told them, walking up to the two groups with a large double bladed ax. "If you bothered to look at his power, you'd see he could wipe all 6 of you out without the help of his friends, who probably could do the same. Now run along before he decides to kill you and I decide to help." Jaxon said shortly, and then looked toward Ghost. As he did, the students that had confronted Ghost had walked off, angry about Jaxon's intervintion.
Ghost drew his hand out for Jaxon to shake it. "Name's Ghost. Yours would be...?" Ghost asked. Jaxon shook his hand and then said "Name's Jaxon." Ghost motioned for Jaxon to follow him. "Would you like to join our group? I rather think you'd make a good addition. Don't you think, guys?" Ghost asked them. "Yeah, he seems fine." Josh said grinning. "We need someone to take Tyler's position. So why not." Max said with a menacing smile. "Sure." Kirstin added. "Then that's it then. Follow us to our dorms. You'll need to absorb some of the power from the stones to catch up to our power. We'll also need to improve your weapon." Ghost commented. You know the student Jaxon? Ghost thought to the headmaster. Yeah, he's a good warrior, but a little to violent. Always picks fights. The headmaster thought in response. He's joined our group. We'll be uping his power and whatnot. Ghost informed the headmaster. I suppose I'll allow it. The more elite warriors, the better. I'll inform his teachers that he's being given the pardon as well. The stones give you knowledge, AND power, so you'll all probably know everything you can learn in school soon enough. The headmaster commented. "You've been pardoned for the week and you've now officially been added to our group. Follow us so we can give you the power.
"Woah! Holy crap, man. I nearly have as much power as you now, Max!" Jaxon commented excitedly. "Give it time, you'll catch up with us I'm sure." Max commented amused. Ghost took the stones and laid them on Jaxon's double bladed ax, as he had done to their weapons, and then energy surged and the weapon got a glowing black tint. Afterwards, Ghost laid the stones on the table, and the energy surged into them. Their muscles grew larger, their minds were sharper, and their endurance seemed to increase exponentially. They repeated the process several times, each time their power and endurance tripeling, and their minds becoming sharper, and cleverer.
