The Trial Of L And D

[The Divine Potato]

The two feminine figures had presented them before the council, their hands firmly fastened behind their backs, the gloved appendages bound by cords of crude hemp rope which at that tightness would seem to redden the wrists of the pair who had produced such a tantalizing opportunity for underhanded moves against them.

"We offer you custody of us, if you give a fair trial, otherwise there will be blood on the walls and the treachery which the man both of us once called leader will remain hidden, do you accept? Good councilmen and woman." The one of them with the white hair spoke,the one known as D, unlike the blonde one who was the respective L would usually do, she was actually keeping rather quiet, her normally perky and upbeat attitude seeming rather sullen and drawn-in.

[Father Anderson]

-Mattias put a palm into his own face, rubbing his eyes, making an irritated groan.
"Fair trial, indeed. It is known that I killed Ra in cold blood, and the people love me for it, so your threats will not work. I still intended to give you a fair trial as is."
-Mattias banged a gavel on a rock on his desk. The guards of the area, all surrounding the 2 on trial, their blades unsheathed, and in their stances.-
"L, and D, you are on trial for treason against the world of Tranquility, what say thee in thine defense?"

"Not guilty..." The albino girl uttered tonelessly whilst there were glances from the two shared with the many guards who brandished their beautifully crafted blades. "Under the grounds that our intent was to infiltrate the threat and take it apart from the inside, evidence and witnesses are on hand in the event that they will be needed... Your honor." The words were spoken with as much enthusiasm as a person being forced at gunpoint to eat a brick, but there was conviction and truth to those words, those words that yet seemed so listlessly spoken, yet so eloquent in their point whilst the two took a look around for a moment, as casually as one would when looking around the house of a guest and then shook heads at each other for a brief moment.

"And where might these witnesses reside?"
-Mattias was tapping his fingers, while staring lazily at the duo in front of him, thinking to himself how obvious the fact was that they were capable of lying.-
"And what of the evidence? where is that? Is it even reliable?"
-He still began to look lazily about the room, then back at the two. He motioned for his guards to replace the hemp rope with adamantium cuffs, in which they did.-
"That is so you can't think about breaking out."

"A rather unnecessary precaution and a waste of expensive adamantium as it woud do about as much good as the rope would, given a situation in which we were to attempt escape. But I digress, two of the witnesses, which admittedly are rather unreliable in your eyes. Are both former akolites known as Lukia and Apollo, however a more... Concretef source would be your fellow councilman Demitri. The first two witnesses were told by word of mouth our intent and were offered a share in the glory if we managed to defeat Ra, the third of the witnesses received letters stating intent and a plea for help, the letter's transcript may be found in the right side pocket of my coat "and by the by, the letters were sent under the assumption that Ra was infact mister Jaxon."

"Interesting, assuming that I would fall...."
-Mattias scanned the entirety of the letter, and then gazed back down at L and D.-
"It seems only one of your 'collaborators' has gotten a piece of the 'glory'. I appreciate the gesture of you trying to take out Ra from the inside, as was my intent as well. You see, I succeeded, while you did not."
-Mattias glanced over the paper once more, then looked down at them one more time.-
"I believe I have come to my answer..... While evidence states you are not guilty of wanting to eradicate Tranquility, you did plan on overtaking it, which I do not approve of. But, in the promise of a fair trial, I hereby deem you to permanently do community service for your idiotic choices, the services you will be performing can vary from joining our Millitary branch, or by simply giving help to those in need, in our dear community."
-He banged the gavel upon the rock, and ordered the guards to release them.-
"Your service starts next week, you have 1 last week of freedom, until you get to work. Case Closed."

[BIG EYES]

At the point where he said case closed, there was a sound that emanated throughout the room. It was the sound of clapping, coming from the back row where there was someone clapping, a man in a black coat as he was also laughing as well, which seemed to grow louder.
"A fair trial... what a joke. This is just a quick way of dispensing retributive justice and thus, makes this an unfair trial."
He stood up, as he showed himself, blue eyes emanating from the hood that he had on, showing who it was.
"I object to your ruling, on the grounds of a mistrial, for this case is far from over, until every fact is analyzed."

[Father Anderson]

-Mattias smacked his forehead, and went over the case papers once more.-
"I've decided to change my ruling. First off, I require the testimonies of the 2 others in question. Second of all, I believe I will change the charge from treason to Conspiring."
-Mattias Banged his gavel on the rock once more.-
"Court is back in session."

Metal seemed to form itself on the pair as if by some sort of autonomous magic, the shine of silvery steel shaped into shin, thigh, and arm guards could be seen, the metal having a distinct shine on it before darkening slightly, a similar reaction seen when alkali metals react to oxygen. The two found themselves blinking and looking at each other with knowing looks whilst D prepared to speak. "Well... I do have a request, your honor..." She paused briefly as if solely to give dramatic effect. "You see, my other half, L had no involvement with my actions ever since I had been patched up with my fight since Alpha, she sought out that if she was coming to this trial then she would be coming at my side."
