It's not a like button but if ppl don't like posts from certain peeps just go foe status & you can avoid em all together & if ya do like the post from a user normally when peeps reply there is a lol or I agree or something along those lines so it's made known right there. Why bring the senselessness y'know

Because sometimes the 'lols' and 'I agrees' are considered spam, and then you are reported, and then you get in trouble, cuz some people have A LOT to agree with!!

Because sometimes the 'lols' and 'I agrees' are considered spam, and then you are reported, and then you get in trouble, cuz some people have A LOT to agree with!!

Then agree or have a lol followed by something to say, that shouldnt be too hard if you liked it

However there are some add-ons that would allow this.

And here the problem of choice arises.
There is a certain add-on that will make a connection with fb and will put it that you liked it on fb as well (I think).
But this would be a bad choice, as fb sucks and people without fb might in fact not be able to use it.

The more sensible solution here is a karma mod.
Since in smf forums there was a standard option, phpbb followers created something similar to compete.
In this case everyone, apart from guests and bots could be able to like or not like certain posts.

The latter would be a more suitable solution in the lines to what you want.

The Karma add-on is a good idea. And we don't want to encourage all our users to get fb, especially the younger ones.

Is the karma button bascially a reputation button?

I've been to another forum before and under each user's name, there is a reputaion button, which you can give the person a plus or a minus. Which basically means, you like that person's post or ya don't.

In several other forum software it is included in the basic forum software's packet, with phpbb you have to install an add-on.
