Delete what you say

Postby Ebil » 04 Dec 2012, 05:27

Ok, we've all had that moment where we say something stupid and then are like "NOOO everybody is going to see that!!!" So why don't we add buttons next to our chat where we can delete what we say, and only what we say? And maybe if the coding won't make your PC explode, make it so Mods and Admins can see what was deleted, in order to keep people from insulting someone or hurting someone's feelings and then deleting it, to never be seen again?

That type of coding isnt supported by Cbox
we do not code the chat, we host it from another service so we cant change the script of the actual system to that extent

Actually I remember This Existing...It was a small x to the far right.
When you posted you could delete it but when someone types, you can no longer delete it.
that said, you had to be quick to do it.
I've lost my pieces.

Actually, the x was on the left.

But yes, you are right, there is an option for (half of) the requested to work.
Simply said, every registered user would be able to delete the lastest msg on chat, if it was theirs.
So as Lamb said, if someone else posted, you wouldn't be able to delete it.

That said: when it is deleted, it is also deleted for mods and admins.

And that's where the trouble is.
What has led to this feature not being availlable to you anymore is that some people would bully others, delete their comments before anyone could intervene.

It makes it very difficult on mods.

And just like in real life, think before you say something.

Well that does seem fair.
