I don't see why anyone really has to swear.
There are so many other NICER words for the words you guys use.
Why do people feel the need to use profanity?
To "express" themselves? Find other words that aren't so offensive?

e.g. when foop and i made the best shot ever ~sarcasm~ in SSL2, a lot of swearing made that situation a lot funnier than it already was

Swearing is scientifically proven to relieve pain a bit.

It's not like we cannot converse without cussing, but a lot of people cuss by nature.
It's like hating a person for their religion, or hairstyle, even.
Explain HOW it makes people look incompetent, because quite fucking honestly, I can be just as intellectual with cussing, as without. I just prefer cussing to NOT cussing.

Re: possible explicit chat.
Why do you have to type the swearing though, if you want to swear just do it outloud.
I'm just bobbing along
Re: possible explicit chat.
This could be possible, but it would have to be an unlisted chat, and only veteran members would have access. Some rules would still apply though.

swear words originated as a stigma against the poor class way back then. There were the "rich" words and the "poor" words and since the rich owned the government, they set standard rules. Anything related to poor culture was seem wrong, barbaric, and to not apply, including swear words. sooo, as a middle class developed, they strived to be like the rich but weren't really, so they were offended when the poor still used swear words because the middle class kinda didn't want to be reminded of the old life?? so to say.
so the stigma against poor culture way back then is just people still feeling uncomfortable at being reminded poor people exist and how they are different in a lot of ways.
Society could literally decide any word as a swear word, you could grow your kid up thinking "pebble" was a bad word, by just reacting bad to when they say it and convincing them its bad. same with swear words.
We need to lighten up as a society and liberate ourselves from the illogical chains that bind us to absurd standards. Why would me dying my hair affect the chance of me getting a job? You're uncomfortable bc my hair color is different? what??? literally, defacate and shit are the same thing, but one is seem more proper bc rich pppl use it and shit was used by the lower classes.
so many bs standards, lets liberate ourselves.
