Mute button

Postby Sphinx » 26 Feb 2011, 01:02

i srsly think this would be a awesome idea for the chat,so if there's no mods around we can just mute spammers, swearers, and people who offend us(not referring to me at all)

i've wanted one of these for aaaaages XP

Wtf do they need a mute button for? Usually there is almost always a mod on, so i don't feel that button will be very useful..
"Ah But Thats Why It's So Brilliant!"
"Because it's so pathetically dim witted"

"Be Nice To Me, Or I'll Put You In Thar!"

You Can Call Me: Caleb. Cale. Cales. Nico. Sketch. ;)

Uh no. Obviously you haven't been on the chat much. Sometimes there are times when there are absolutely NO mods on for long periods of time, and us regulars just have to sit there and 'not act like mods' and watch the rule breakers break rules. I, personally, get tired of it. A mute button would be appreciated.

For the chat, this is technically not possible.
For the forum, that's why you have a foes list in phpbb3.
You don't want to see any posts of a certain someone, add that person to your foes list.

This is the most stupid topic I've ever seen... The ban button is the same thing! And besides, Frank and Hito make mods cause they can trust them with the power. If you let random people mute other people, all hell will break loose! For example, if you put the mute button on, someone can go mass banning mode... Like Paladin (No offence mate...) Sooo, bad idea. :L

So, I guess we just end up where we started. During the hours when mods aren't on, us regulars (that are good) will just have to sit there and watch the rule-breakers wreak havoc.. I can deal with it, it's just so annoying, especially when every time you tell them to 'please not do something' so you don't sound like a mod, they either tell you you're acting like a mod, or they say they don't give a (insert word here) and start spamming or cussing or whatever they were doing more.
