I would choose having loved and lost, because I've done it and been fine, but imagining never having anyone to love...now that is a sad sad thing and would cause depression.

WWYDI all of your nice things were taken away from you and you were left with nothing but a mattress, one blanket, and one pair of clothes that you could never wash?

I'd lock him/her in in a cage so they wouldn't harm anyone, and I'd bring it food, water, clothes, and love. In either of our dying moments, I shall dramatically throw myself in the cage so they can eat my brains, while some Michael Ortega plays.
