(In between rounds, you can do little RP posts, by the way)

A middle-eastern, worried-looking man in a traditional robe stands in town square. "Something dark is happening, all over this city. Underground civilizations. They'll kill us if we don't kill them!" He throws his hands in the air. "The mayor won't listen! The sheriff won't listen! Let's take care of this ourselves! Who's with me?!" The town square is silent. It is three in the morning. The man mutters to himself and goes back to his home dejectedly.

Her hands are steady now. She holds her styrofoam coffee cup firmly, and she walks with poise down the street toward the office building she works in. Her heels click brightly on the cracked cement below. Her warm trench coat billows out behind her in the breeze. She keeps her gaze straight ahead, her pace consistent-- until she hears a noise, like a dumpster lid clattering shut. Before she can think, she whips her head around to find herself peering into a darkened alley to her right. Her pace has slowed, her coat hangs limp. Something is peering right back at her. Her hands are shaking now, and each scalding splash of coffee on her skin is the least of her worries. She tucks her head down and hurries on her way, but her mind is now a dark cloud of thought.

Foopz settles into his home in the alley. He accidentally knocks over a trash bin, producing a loud clanging noise. "Hope I didn't wake the neighbors," he laughs to himself. He looks out at the end of the alley and sees an important businesswoman. Walking at three AM? No coincidence, surely, she's on his side. "HEY!" He shouts, and runs after the woman. "LET'S TAKE DOWN THE GOVERNMENT TOGETHER!" He yells, whirling the woman around.

What she sees isn't very pleasant. A dirty man in his dirty traditional robe, screaming in her face with a worried expression. "What's your name? Talk with me! There's a dark society in this city. The mayor and sheriff won't do anything to stop it! Come on, help me out? You've gotta have some reputation in this government."

He paused, and said, calmly and almost smoothly. "Or food. Do you have food? Or change? I'm really hungry, doll." He walked alongside here, staring at her and waiting for an answer.

Her coffee cup lay on the ground forgotten, spilling its dark, sticky contents like shed blood across the gray stone. She backed quickly away from the man, her eyes narrowing with fear as well as a need for control, "Back off grimy, I'm not giving handouts." Her heart was pounding in her chest from what she had feared would slink from the alley's depths, but this man was no threat to her... for now. She ignored his comments about the government and 'getting together.' He was obviously as insane as they come, probably from having only rats as company in such a dark alley. Or maybe more... her heart rate picking up again, she side-stepped his body, radiating a foul odor nonetheless, and hurried off once more into the night, quicker than before.

The man followed her, and grabbed her arm with a filthy hand. "Come on. A dollar, so I can stop by McFwigalds? Or, we can stick it to the man." He grinned, yellow teeth dull in the moonlight.

This time she did not hesitate. Smacking his hand from her arm, she used the other hand to pull a small pistol from the waistband of her pantsuit, and poked it against his prominent ribs. "Look hobo, I don't want to hurt you, but I need you to back off. Just go back to your little hell hole over there."
She motions toward the alley with her head, her ice blue eyes piercing, "Maybe if I'm feeling generous enough after work I'll drop by a whole steak dinner. For now, leave me alone. Got it?"
With the question she jabbed him a little harder with the gunpoint.

The man backed off, hurt. His eyes watering, he cowered back to his alley to shiver through another September night, hungry and cold. He ducked beneath a tarp and sat on a dirty, ragged bedroll, and laid his head down to try and sleep.

She watched him go, putting her pistol back in its place, the cold metal making her shiver when it touched her skin. She felt a sickness in the pit of her stomach-- nauseating guilt. But she couldn't stop. She had her own problems. Besides, her wallet only contained her credit cards and her license at the moment, and she was not giving him one of those. She continued on her early morning trip, her heels clicking again, her coat billowing, and her hands tucked deep in the pockets, shaking like leaves in the wind.

(Oops. Add this to my post.) She looks at the man and hands him an uneaten sandwich. "See you." She walks away.

The man glares at the approaching woman, but his face brightens when he sees the sandwich. "Excalibur bless you," he says hoarsely before wolfing down the sandwich and finally laying down for a good night's rest.
