The Day Munter Met the Gunman

One day, (sunday there, to be precise) i was in work, on my own. The place was dead. I could hear the traffic go bye, and the occasional roar of a bus, taking tired passengers back from Glasgow and up the hill to Fairhill. I was in the back, mucking about with a stick, pretending to be a samurai. This was something i often did when i was bored, i could hear the door opening so i knew when to go to the front to serve customers.
So as usual i was mucking about with a stick in the back, and i heard the door opening. Knowing i had a customer to serve i promptly put the stick down and moved to the front.

I got to counter to see a man with his good up striding towards me. 'funny' i thought, 'i didn't think it was raining'. My thoughts were broken by his words

'Money'

He said, feigning authority with a shaky voice and sunken eyes staring into mine. From the corner of my eye i sensed movement, i looked to his left hand. A handgun was pointing at me.

'Money, now'

He shouted through rotting teeth. I went into a mindset i had prepared for such an occasion, and attempted to remain calm. Although the man did not look like a seasoned killer, he looked unstable. If the gun was real, i could easily see him hastily pulling the trigger if i did anything unexpected.

'nae danger big man, nae danger' i said, reassuring hin as i opened the till.

'Notes, give me notes, now'

I empty the notes into his gloved hand.

'coins, what coins have you got?'

I gave him the few pound coins there were in the till. As soon as the money hit his quivering hand, he turned on his heels, and hurried out the shop.

As soon as he was out the shop i hit the panic button, three piercing alarms screamed in unison, I sat and waited for the police to arrive.

Going to Court soon to be a witness in the trial!

That's right, I need to stand in the witness box, take the oath thing and have lawyers quiz me on stuff.

It's going to be well mad!

wow they take their time in the Scotish legal system - didn't this happen last year?

Haha yeah it was just over a year ago.

Things move pretty slowly over here, I suppose cause no one got killed they thought they could afford to string it out a bit.

That combined with the fact the guy up for it was still to appear in court for a string of other offenses and the fact the defense kept asking for more and more time for 'investigations' it's taking forever.

Still, it will hopefully be over come the end of the month!

I'll tell you what happens at court, should be a good story!
