The Running Man

Postby Flobalob » 17 Jul 2013, 22:26

Ok, so, some of you have probably seen this already, but in Indonesia and Vietnam, Arsenal (A football No not "soccer" club) has a really big following.

What happened is that the guy in this video (Vu Xuan Tien) ran 5 miles after the bus of players in an Arsenal shirt and hitched a ride on the scooter of some random guy he didn't even know. They pulled the bus over and let him on, had a chat with him and even signed his shirt, and during today's match they'd arranged free tickets for him and he came on in place of one of those kids who comes on at the start. Here's the video, narrated by Wojciech Szczesny in a really British accent:

And now here's the full BBC news article:

The BBC's Vietnamese Service wrote:A Vietnamese fan of Arsenal football club has spoken of his joy at meeting his heroes after pursuing their bus.

Vu Xuan Tien, 20, was invited to meet the squad after they noticed a man clad in a team shirt running near the bus, dodging Hanoi's traffic to keep up.

The players then stopped the bus and signed his shirt. "I never thought I'd be so lucky," he told the BBC.

Arsenal were in the Vietnamese capital to play the national team, who they beat 7-1 on Wednesday.

A video on the Arsenal website showed the players cheering on Mr Vu, chanting "sign him up, sign him up".

In an interview with the BBC's Vietnamese Service, he said he had been an Arsenal fan all his life and had simply wanted to see his heroes, who are on the second leg of an Asian tour.

"When I got on board the coach and saw the manager Arsene Wenger and the footballers cheering me, I was very happy," he said. "I was surprised by the friendliness they showed towards their fans."

When asked about which side he would support in Wednesday's match, he replied: "I will cheer both teams... but I will give a bit more to Vietnam."

I thought this was gonna be a post about that late 80s-early 90s dance move...

I feel so let down.

Thought maby it was gonna be a challenge to everyone to film themselves doing the best running man they can!

Imagine my disapointment!!!
