It was about Freedom of Religious belief, Alot Of Christians died back then Because of the British! and I think that if they Stay under You-know-who then More bad things WILL happen.

Times have changed! Christians and religion have -if any- little influence in todays society(Espically in Scotalnd). There has always -and will always- been hatred between the Scottish and English(British, not really. Scottish respected and even helped the Welsh aswell as the Irish).
And if you say because of some old event some kind of 'revenge' should be taken and Independace should be given; then why not split the world! Every single country was formed with small towns and tribes/clans at war with relgious beliefs and over power. Aswell as rebelions being crushed and not even taking hold in most circumstances.
And what could go against Scotland staying in Britain, it's got devulotion? Gets 30 billion a year from Westminster plus taxes, so what more could it want? Get independance, no 30 billion a year. Yes there will be more money gained from taxes but not even 5 billion will be made! It's all about the present and future NOT the past!!
Do you have reasons why should be independant that could benifit us now or in years to come?
Though, I still respect your opion if I don't agree with it.

Garth, one for all, chill.

2, some of your points don't even make sense. Every city/town or tribe did NOT have their own complete and diverse ethnicity. For instance, Scotland, the Picts and the Scott tribes were all of Scottish ethnic. In Ireland, the all those little kingdoms, were all Irish ethnic. Even the German States. All those little kingdoms, all, were German. So, that point you made is out.

And, Christianity still plays some roles in wars. anyone know Kony? The leader of that rebel group in Uganda? Well, his reasons was some idiodic thing to do with Christianity. The relgion influenced him. As well as other relgions, some countries in the Middle East have an Islamic State, where the Church and Government are one.

Also, As I have said countless times before, of the majority of Scotland wants independence, then they will surely gain it, and work very hard to make their country great, and to your point, they'll find a way to have a stable income.
If people don't think it's great for Scotland to gain independence, then they won't if enough people think so.

Though, In My Opinion, It would be nice to for Scotland to gain independence. And, if times have changed, why is there a party in Scotland pushing for Independence? Hmm? It seems that times haven't changed enough.

I am chilled, in fact it's freezing here. lol
Yes, the were Scottish but every tribe/clan had differnet views and ways of doing things. Thats why they were wars aginst each othere all the time... I don't really have strong argument for this... Because, it's the furure that counts thats why 16 yr olds get the vote.
And what has Uganda and the middle east got to do with Scotalnd. Yes there are examples but the Church of Scotland has No influence of what happens in Scotland at all. In the U.K govermant the Church still has a slight say in what happens.
The annoying thing is you say that they will find a stable income. If we can find it now before we go independant, Why we find once we are independant? Another annoying fact lots of Scots live on benifits plus, a lot of money is spent on the NHS.
You say time haven't changed then why is there a U.K party called bnp, who are basicly a form of... and I hate to say but this, but it's what they are nicknamed... nazi. Obviously not everyone is going to have different views. [Russia and China nearly always block miltary aid to countrys in destress. But thats their view, we see it as wrong but they don't.]
Yes we did vote the SNP party into power but, I have to admit it. They had the better polices than all the others. Apart from the Pull away from the U.K one obviously. And yes they have done a really good job for Scotland but, becoming independant will cost too much espically in the current economic climate. It's not that I want to stay with the U.K. If they had every sigle question answered and not like 'we'll just have to hope and see if we succed' then I/most wouldn't mind. It's all the answered questions and uncertainty....
Plus would you want Alex Salmond running your country. :D ;)

Garth, living in Scotland really has got the most accurate viewpoint of everything.

And not one person is going to go into those voting booths and think "I want Scotland to be independent because my ancestors were bullied by the English.."

Times have changed, the church has no influence really anymore, and nobody knows yet if Scotland wants to be independent - this is what the referendum is establishing. Scotland and England aren't at war, or annoyed because of what happened 700 years ago. Yes they are a little touchy but you're not going to break up over a little history.

There are reasons why Scotland would like to be independent, but the economic climate as Garth said is much too weak, it simply would not work, adding that every single Scottish person I know either couldn't care less or want to stick with the UK. It's not a matter of working hard to fix a country, the economy is just too weak.

Saying that all Scottish people want to be free and hate England is about as accurate as the perceived love story between Wales and their sheep (the British here will get that one  )

Scotland is a country, no?
If they want to not be a part of the UK, let them hold a vote for it.
Why's that so bad? It's plain logic.

Yo, I'm pretty sure Scotland does not want to be kissing The Queens butt anymore, And Those wars are not "Christianity" Based it's From some Colt that if you Blow up Buildings You Will Go to a So called "Paradise", The Baptists Did it because they were being Killed for Freedom of Religious Believes.
