Dude, i'm talking about, COMPLETE DEVOTION! Like, continueing to make music, to perform, to show everyone. To spend all their days making, practicing, designing new styles to continue their work. Most artists give up after aron 10 years like shad and ducky said. But artists that keep being around for a while show true devotion.

EVEN AMATEUR MUSICIANS DEVOTE THEIR LIFE, SHADOW. It's not an uncommon thing to do!

Thought we were talking about music, not silly magic tricks. Music is much more complicated and Sophisticated than so called "magic". It takes more time, effort, talent, performance, ideals, and money to make music into what you want it to be. .-. All Magic is, is worthless eye tricks on the audience.

I wasn't talking about giving up, but simply dropping off the radar. There are hundreds of thousands of successful, and non-successful people who devote their lives to music. It's not a matter of being devoted to music in being famous, even those who were famous can continue to be in music and simply not be as famous as they were.

I'm writing songs nearly every week, singing them in how they should sound like, finding perfect instruments, etc.

Agreeing with ducksters there. It's just that pop artists are the easy target to prey on when talking about artists that fall off the radar, simply because, well, they do. And I mean that 99% of them do. Why? Because they can't handle live performances, because the audience gets bored of them etc. they aren't like music artists such as The Beatles for example, that people continue talking about for years. I haven't heard of any pop artist that was well known for their musical career for decades, simply because most pop songs are simple, talking about love, repeating the same lyrics over and over till you get bored of them. And I don't say they are the only ones that do so, it's that out of 10 pop artists, 11 have ran out of ideas.
But it's quite simple why i don't like that kind of music, and it's quite simple. It's because they (musical industries) fish someone that has a slight spark of talent, and get him to write some lyrics. Then get some random person compose the music. Then they get someone well known or with a sympathetic background that will appeal to the audience to sing the music. If they can't sing or fail at doing so, they heavily edit the sound (and they don't allow them to do many live performances). Then, after 6-7 years people gets bored of them, so they suddenly find some "new awesome talent" and they get on the front for 6-7 years again, while the last one vanishes.
Eg, tell me, how long do you expect Nicki Minaj to stay under the spotlight? And you must agree, her being famous doesn't exactly help with pop music's reputation...

Eh, i only put Nicki Minaj in coz a lot of people hate on her. Like, she raps about the same shit as male artists, and only adds Stage Art Performance, and all of a sudden, she has ruined music. and, Shadow. about the not handling the live performances, I think Lady Gaga can handle that. All of her tours consumed most of her career time. And when she was on tour, she did around 1-3 hours performances about 3-5 times a week, doing this for about 4-8 months i think. She can handle it XD So she won't leave because of that. I do agree with you, for the 99% aritsts drop become they can't keep up with the performances. I'ts obvious Katy Perry, Rihanna, Kesha, Maroon 5, and all the other artists won't keep their stuff up, but lady gaga will. I'm certain she'll stay in the music bus, and stay extremely busy for longer than most. She's been successfully performing at age 13. she's got experience xD

Maroon 5,Katy Perry,Rihanna and Kesha are keeping their stuff up,what was the last song Lady Gaga made? Also,Nicki Minaj has a huge fanbase, cause rapping for eight years certainly confirms that.

Lady Gaga is a slightly worse off copy of Madonna. There, said it. People are getting bored of her antics and costumes, Born This Way sold half the copies that The Fame did. Pokerface was huge everywhere - number 1 in most countries - but then her latest single Marry The Night hasn't hit the top 10 in any country. You can't deny her popularity is fading. (And on this note I'd like to point out that Katy Perry, who went to number 1 with I Kissed A Girl in most countries, is STILL scoring number 1s today with her latest singles - 4 years on. She's been recording for 13 years, and playing in front of an audience since she was 9. Of all the artist who are going to be sticking around I'd be vouching for Perry.)
