Yes, Yes you can.
That literally used to be my only way of getting money. xD

i have practically infinite money
you just have to be patient and grow crops. refrigerate your good seeds to get good plants next season, which will get you more money etc
grow lots of crops, and spend your free time farming, or in the labyrinth

I'm good on money now, but I never stuck very well with farming. I fight every boss possible each day and sell any drops. I also get lots of money from mining.

There is a new one being worked on, and hopefully, it will be released on 3DS. But there is a chance it'll come out on Wii U. You can get one of the currently available games, or wait for the newest one. (I'm saving up for RF 3 and the new one.)

they dont lose money by doing this, every console company does this, they bring out a new console to play and then they bring out games tailored for that exact console, really though it isnt too expensive for a 3ds or 2ds, and even if you cant afford one, you can always try a bidding site and get it cheaper
