If aliens outside our solar system are watching Earth right now, they are watching dinosaurs.

If any life at all.

Light based vision can only go as fast as the speed of light, and this means that there is a huge delay between what happens here and when it is observable somewhere else in the galaxy.

This goes the other way as well. What we see through telescopes are not stars, but the light from stars thousands or millions of years old which may have long since collapsed or moved.
