If aliens outside our solar system are watching Earth right now, they are watching dinosaurs.

The fact that this conviction occurred even 3 years after the event shows that this was not running on pure emotion, just plain ignorance. No science is 100%, and I assume the government is looking for a scapegoat for not providing a more efficient rescue operation.
