Rise Against Bullying

Postby Toady » 24 Mar 2012, 00:44

Bullying has become a national and even global problem. People are causing harm to themselves and even others to counteract it. Now, let me start with this, I have been bullied as well as well as many mods and many users here. We all know it is bad. I remember actually going to my counselor just to cry. It was that bad. I didn't even tell a story. I just cried. It is a GLOBAL problem and I am here to say, it is time for people to take a stand.

Many people are very much hurting inside. There are some things that you can do to make yourself or others feel better.

1) TALK ABOUT IT! Talking is the most effective way to rise up against bullying because some of us don't have the chance to talk to anyone else so it is important that you look for someone to talk to. (For me it was my coach/counselor)

2) NEVER GIVE UP! Everything will always get better! Look on the bright side of everything and know that you will wake up and you know that the day will be better because it will if you think it will be.

3) FIND THOSE THAT BELIEVE IN YOU! I remember choosing the wrong friends and trying to be in the wrong group. When I believed these people were my friends, they were stabbing me in the back and telling me lies, telling me bad things, and telling me that I don't belong and that I am hated. Those people don't deserve your company and do not deserve to be in the same room with you because if they wanna do that to you, they are extremely terrible people and what my school would call scum. Find people that will always be by your side. You might have less "friends", but at least they will always be by your side.

As of right now I am trying to start a campaign called Rise Against Bullying. I want everyone to be aware that bullying is extremely bad and I am trying to pass things on to many powerful people in our schools and even our government so they can stop it for good. However, it doesn't stop at the government...It is up to us as kids and young adults to stand up for ourselves and stand up for others. This year lets make a pledge that we all stand up against it and especially Rise up against it because "Everything WILL Be Better In The Long Run".

Just putting up my post from serious discussion here...It's even got a song to go with it.

Last week, there was a Bullying campaign at my school. Children and teens across the world are being treated differently, as if they're lesser, as if they're insignificant pieces of crap. As if they are freak of nature.

Well, I feel that needs to be stopped. Everybody does. The fact that people are hurting themselves.

Cutting. Suicide. Any form of self-harm. The largest cause of this is bullying. Why do people do this?

Don't people understand that words hurt? Don't people understand words kill? Don't people understand that lifestyles aren't sin? That mutations and deformities don't make you a freak? That if a child is bullied, that is verbal assault. That is attempted murder.

But it isn't just the bullies. It's us. It's everybody that didn't help until it was either too late, or didn't help at all. It's us. The people who didn't listen when the people tried to speak out. It's us. The people who are afraid to help because their peers would bully them.

So the biggest question here, is why don't we act? Why do we still ignore it. These people, they're calling for help, but we aren't listening.

Stop bullying, everybody. If somebody is bullied, stop the bully. Tell an adult, or interfere. If you're being bullied, please tell somebody, and make us listen.

This is a serious problem, and it needs to be stopped soon.

For those who it is too late, rest in peace.

A search on google for "suicide from bullying" yields millions of results. I want that number to go down.

For every suicide among young people, there are at least 100 suicide attempts. Over 14 percent of high school students have considered suicide, and almost 7 percent have attempted it. I want these percentages to not exist. I want there to be no suicide attempts.

guide to handling bullies

1: Tell someone you can trust.

2: don't just watch the victim get bullied

3: Ignore the bully and pretend he/she is there

It is just...very very good....

I actually handle them..(just a few around 9)
By shutting them up by doing something they say i cant...
I also got people watching my back...Not going at it alone but with as many people as i can befriend(that are not complete dicks at first)

Sorry for the language but yea....

Most people want to find a way out of it...and one way we do it...is talking here with people that will understand and not put you down when they know what you have gone through
I've lost my pieces.

Bullying takes many forms, some subtle and some bold. In my school there's an extra class in form 2 for "better" children. The children barely care about being in the advanced class but those who do rub it in your face constantly, their parents and the teachers treat them better than everyone else and make you feel as if your unimportant or "a being of lesser significance". I have only met one teacher who stands against the advanced class. Also i agree with Toady, if you keep it in, it messes you up. You're not lame if you cry and talk to an adult. You are mature enough to accept help

Thanks!

It's not just the kids who do the bullying though. I wasnt bullied in school until my math teacher started it. I think some people forget that you can't always stop the bully, I had to deal with getting ridiculed for a year by the person I was supposed to trust.
