Thanks to The Green Ninja, SuperGamerCoffeeGirkDD, and Roachette for suggesting this! Yall rock!
Facts will be nerdy, completely useless, and hopefully entertaining.
Day 1: Did you know pirates wore eyepatches not just to cover their gaping eye-hole, but to also be able to see in the dark? They would flip up the patch while in the hold of their ship and have instant night vision when going to hide or access their booty!

The largest living thing in the world: Is it a blue whale? A giant squid? Maybe one of those giant trees?
Nope, it's a mushroom colony in Oregon stretching for 2,200 acres that has been alive for more than 2,400 years.

Re: mmm's Fun Fact of the Day!
Idioms! I often think idioms would make some awesome horse, band, or song names (As the crow flies, for one), so look for more to come.
Let's go back to around 711 A.D. The Moors, an ethnic group originally from Africa, would continually invade Spain by boat, doing all sorts of nasty things and eventually taking control. So the Spaniards, being invaded very often, started using the idiom "No hay Moros en la costa." This literally translated means, there are no Moors on the coast.
Or as we know it today, the coast is clear.

Interesting! So are like, all the mushrooms together make one living thing?

Short answer: Yes!
Longer Answer: The root system is what stretches for all those acres, the individual mushrooms are just individual appendages (like arms and legs. Lots and lots of arms and legs) of a single organism.
