Dank rooney is definitely not in the top 5 since he is absolutely awful. slow fat and cant get in good position cant take people on can only fail.

To the original question im just going to go with messi since the majority of older world class footballers say he is the best and he also one best player award 3 times

There is one thing Rooney can do better than Messi and that is distance shooting also Rooney has more stamina. Rooney basically is everywhere (Even in defence). Rooney maybe fat but he still runs fast and scores goals. Rooney is awesome, he can score volleys and overkick <--- course you wont be able to take that cuz of jealousy but all goals count. When Ronaldo left, out main Striker was Rooney and he had a amazing season. He will always be one of the best striker in the world. By the way, you don't need to take on players to be the best in football.
