ARE INCARCERATED IN THE PRISON SYSTEM PRISON SYSTEM OF THE US
If you factor in people who are "cycled" meaning that they stay in the prison system for a couple of months and are released, the prison population is about 2.4 million.

Cops purposely target minorities and the poor in order to rake in revenue and keep people going to private prisons so corporations can make money.
There is a detention center in Chicago that was recently released where it is very similar to Guantanamo Bay, where citizens who are not favored by the Chicago PD may be kidnapped for a certain amount of time and tortured. Some people have come out and said they've been held there for 3 years.
There is a forced labor camp in Texas where the Government puts people into a detention center for being illegal immigrants. Before, the Government would ship them back to Mexico on a bus, but now they go through a "wait" and have to stop in a prison in Texas where they are forced to make assorted goods, like employee shirts for McDonald's.
