Alright guys, so we haven't really had a contest in a while so I was discussing it over with mmm the other day and he said that a talent show sounded fun. Now, because I feel like most people don't want to post videos of themselves, that maybe we could do another type of contest and here's what I came up with.

FWG Contest of the Arts!

Types of media you can submit and their guide lines:

• 2D Art: 2D art is paintings, drawings, and sketches, basically anything that you do on a piece of paper or canvas. You have to be able to submit a picture of it with a title and a short paragraph description of what it is. Please have nothing explicit in your picture.
• 3D Art: 3D art is anything that's not done on a piece of paper, like a sculpture. You have to be able to submit a picture of it with a title and a short paragraph description of what it is. Please have nothing explicit in your picture.
• Food: Food is, well, food! The requirements for this category is that it has to be an original/family recipe. You have to be able to submit a picture of your dish with a title and a short paragraph description of what it is.
• Short Story Writing: Your short story can be about virtually anything as long as it's not explicit. The maximum word limit is 10,000 words and the minimum is 1,000. Your story must have a title with the story part put into a spoiler.
• Poetry: Your poem can be about virtually anything as long as it's not explicit. Poetry includes haikus, sonnets, free verse, a song etc. The minimum amount of lines your poem can have is 3 and the maximum is 50. Your poem must have a title with the poem put into a spoiler if it's longer than 10 lines.

The time period for submitting your piece starts July 1st and ends July 31st. The polls will open for voting shortly after. Voting will be done by anyone who didn't participate and will be done in a manner similar to the Frook Awards where I give you the categories and you give me the name you vote for each category. The reward will be a pixel award made by me for your forum signature.

FAQ:

1. How many entries can you make?
   - One per category!
2. How many different categories can we enter into?
   - You can enter into each category, but you can only win one award. People can only vote for you once.
3. At exactly what time does the contest end?
   - As long as you submit your entry before 12:00 am PST on August 1st, you should be fine.
4. Will there be a different award for each category?
   - Yes, each category has it's own award. Honorable mentions (the people in second place) also get awards!
5. *Question relating to posting a video*
   - I'm hoping to do something like this again except with more of a talent show type feel. Videos will be perfectly fine then. For now, we should just stick with pictures and writing to not complicate this further.
6. After submitting an entry are you allowed to edit said entry up until the deadline?
   - Yes.

Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I cancel this contest. No one told me it was FWG's 13th birthday.

Something similar to this may happen again next year? But I won't be hosting it, I'll just be helping with setting it up.
