no, not really. I did listen to them prior to them getting known, albeit I still don't listen to them much differently, but part of me dislikes people who don't listen to their stuff prior to blurryface.

yeah, i agree that people who avoid stuff prior to blurryface feel kinda pretentious when they call themselves fans. its an alright starting point i guess but self titled is better to start with i think. everyone is free to like what they want, yeah, but there's just so much more to it than blurryface that it feels wrong to only listen to it. the concept of blurryface is really unique and deep and everything, but so is all of their music. like self titled has some of most poetic things i've ever heard, for example, and migraine and kitchen sink are also amazingly well written. as great as blurryface is if anyone ever comes to me and says it's all they've listened to, hands down i would encourage them to try out the other stuff.

twenty one pilots are very good they currently make up the entirety of my anxiety playlist and i can play the first part of house of gold on my ukulele
