Voiced Chat

As a result of the spambot influx recently, the chatbox is now using a voiced chat system. It sounds just a teensy bit dictator-y, but now you must be approved and voiced in order to chat.

When you send a message, it'll be given out for a approval and after that first message you'll usually get voiced. If you break the rules, you'll lose your voice (or just get banned, obv). Talk to me, wot, or frook if you have any issues with the system.

MODS NEED TO BE ACTIVE IN APPROVING CHATTERS FOR NOW!

problem with this is it requires mods to be active in order to voice users. how will you know mods will be on more if they weren't before? no voiced chat also requires mods to be on if the spambots continue so i guess you have to pick the better of the two. one fix to the problem is promoting active users who can cover the times where mods are rare.

is there a way for admins to pre-approve users without having to fully rely on mods? how do users know if they are/n't voiced?

what if cms turn voiced chat off while they're active? this way if there are any problems the cm can turn it back on. i don't know if this will increase chat activity but it's worth a try. cms will just have to remember to turn it back on once they leave

It's highly unlikely that it will increase chat activity, as the awaiting moderation chat is nothing but netsky messages and even if we turn off voiced chat registration is still required and if we turn that off there will be more problems than just netsky.
