Chapter 11. The Cat Clans. PLEASE READ!

Oakpaw opened his eyes, and saw that all the apprentices had left, except Snakepaw. Did our mentors let us sleep late? Oakpaw blinked his eyes, a rose to his feet. Pictures of the battle still flashed in his mind, seeming he couldn't get over that he lost a friend, who he just met at the last Festival. It was a couple days after the battle, and it was the Festival. I wonder what the other clans might think when they see Nightfang and Birchkit. The Festival was going to be held at TreeClan. Oakpaw was excited. The only time that he went into TreeClan territory, was when he helped Birchkit and Nightfang. TreeClan must know about those two cats, and where they come from. Things were hard to decide. So many events had happen, and they seemed to flash in Oakpaw's head all the time. Is this how most warriors feel? Oakpaw swung his head from side to side, trying to clear his mind. He walked over to the Fresh-kill pile, and picked two mice. He walked over to a tree stump, and began to eat. The mourning leaves were covered in dew, and the sun had not yet risen. The camp was very quiet, as it seemed that some cat had not yet woken up. Guess I woke to early. But where are the other apprentices? Oakpaw thought long and hard. Had they gone out to play? Were they roaring in our territory? “It's kinda like that.” a voice whispered. Oakpaw swung his head, to see Tawnycloud, the blind she-cat that could still be a warrior. She's reading my mind again. “You're right on that,” Tawnycloud meowed. She paused for a moment, then continued, “I will stop. I don't do this for my own, I use it when the clan needs it. You know, it's a rare power,” Tawnycloud began to explain. “It helps me fight. can read the cats thoughts, and well, counter. It's like I'm seeing them.” Oakpaw slowly nodded. Tawnycloud lifted her head in the air, and closed her eyes. She looked at Oakpaw, and opened her eyes. “How's it like? With sight, I mean,” She whispered, with a sad tone. Oakpaw hesitated on the question. “I guess...it changes a lot... of how you... err-” Tawnycloud put her tail over Oakpaw's shoulder. “It's okay, honey. Thank you for trying to explain.” Tawnycloud gave Oakpaw a lick to his forehead. She then walked over to the Fresh-kill pile, and picked up a bird, and walked back. “How's your training going?” Tawnycloud asked. Oakpaw thought for a moment. “Well, Deadfire is saying I'm doing good. I'm good at fighting, but I need some more practice on hunting.”Tawnycloud nodded slowly. Oakpaw stared very hard on those eyes. They seemed so full of activity, and life, even though the she-cat was blind. Stoneclaw emerged out of his nest, and padded to the clearing. Tawnycloud got up, and walked over to greet Stoneclaw. Stoneclaw greeted her, and they talked. Then more cats emerged form the dens, and some warriors went into the apprentice's den, to yell at their apprentices to get up, but to see that only Snakepaw was there, by himself. Oakpaw heard his brother jump up when Mousetail came in. Mousetail walked out, with Snakepaw following out. The clan was waking up. The rest of the apprentices had returned, from what ever they were doing. Oakpaw padded over to the groups of cats. He could hear his father's voice. “I want Deadfire, Briarwish, and Oakpaw to go on the dawn south patrol, and Thorntail, Tawnycloud, and Applepaw take north dawn patrol. North evening patrol will be Bounceleg, Leafpaw, and I. South, will be Mousetail, Minttail, and Snakepaw. Night south will be Ashspots, Cloudfang, and Squirrelfur. North, will be Shrewtail, Foxblaze, Tigerpaw, and Spiderpaw. Leaders of the hunting patrols will be Grayheart, Nightwatcher, Cliffall and Sandclaw. Choose your cats at different times. Mentors, if you and your apprentice are free at any time, start training. Dismiss.” Deadfire, and Briarwish, along with Thorntail and Tawnycloud went to the camp entrance. Oakpaw followed, and he saw Applepaw follow too. She smiled at him, and Oakpaw nodded back.“Come, Oakpaw. We must hurry,” Deadfire meowed. Briarwish looked at the black tom. “Why must we hurry?” Deadfire looked at Briarwish. “I have planned to take Oakpaw out for an assessment. Not for warrior ship, but to test him, to see what he has learned. Mousetail is doing the same, and Rockstar and Stoneclaw are going to watch too. Rockstar has been very interested in Oakpaw though.”Oakpaw eye's brightened. This is awesome! Oakpaw then tilted his head. Why has Rockstar taken interest in me though? Oakpaw thought a little more, but stopped. His thoughts were disturbed from Deadfire and Briarwish walked through the camp entrance. Oakpaw ran after the patrol, and felt a cold breeze hit his fur. Oakpaw looked around, and saw that some frost began to form around some grass. Deadfire was string at the frost, and sighed, and Briarwish looked sad too. “What's the matter?” Oakpaw asked. He stepped in the frost, and it was cold, very cold. What is this? “Looks like the snow is coming, eh, Briarwish?” Deadfire said. “Yes, it has come. I hope this season of leaf-bare isn't as bad as the last one,” Briarwish meowed, with sadness clouding her eyes.Oakpaw was confused. “Why? What was so bad?” Oakpaw asked, trying to grasp what the older cats were saying. “Last leaf-bare, Many cats died. One of them, was Ravenheart, RockClan's first deputy, and your grandmother, died too,” Briarwish meowed.Deadfire snickered a bit. “Yeah, Shadowpool went crazy when Thunderfang died of greencough. He started yapping on that Creekwing didn't even try.”Briarwish frowned, then stared at Deadfire. “Hmm,” was all the she-cat said, before padding in the frost. Deadfire flicked his whiskers in annoyance, an followed. Oakpaw stared after the two warriors, before stalking the patrol, staying a few tail-lengths behind, to watch the back.Oakpaw looks around the land, and sees that the rocks are covered in frost. He peered ahead, and saw a bunch of trees all together, and they stretched high. On the ground, there was very little sunlight, and the grass was covered in more frost then in RockClan. “Alright! We're here! Set the border markers,” Deadfire ordered, and the patrol got right to work. They moved west, until the got to the WaterClan/RockClan border. They met the North Patrol there, who was Thorntail, Tawnycloud, and Applepaw. Across the border, they smelled WaterClan cats. “Get in the bushes! Quick! They won't dare to attack once you appear!” Oakpw hissed to them. Thorntail nodded, and Oakpaw turned his head to see Deadfire nodding in approval. Deadfire stood tail, and faced the WaterClan cats has they came. Dawnstrike, Beetletooth, Icefang, Heatherpelt, and Oliveclaw,” Deadfire began.Oakpaw only recognized Dawnstrike and Beetletooth out of the patrol. “What brings you to RockClan territory? Of course, not to attack us, correct? It is the night of the Festival,” Deadfire spat. Dawnstrike growled, and Icefang unsheathed her claws.“I would stop right there, if I was you.” Oakpaw turned around to see Thorntail, Tawnycloud, and Applepaw walk out proudly out of the den. Heatherpelt looked a bit nervous, and Beetletooth frowned. “We really had news, for Rockstar, but, hey, if you don't want the news, fine!” Beetletooth snorted, and walked away He flicked his tail to signal the rest to follow. Deadfire frowned, and Briarwish and Thorntail looked confused. “I think we should head back,” Briarwish meowed..Thorntail thought for a moment. “I think we should organize more patrols. It sounded like they were going to warn us about something. But what was it?” Thorntail said. “Maybe they banished Leopardshine,” Applepaw spoke up. All eyes rested on her. “Why would they banish Leopardshine. He's the WaterClan deputy!” Deadfire hissed. Applepaw flinched at the dark tom's anger.“Well, He did look very...um.... very agresive when attacking Flamepaw, and I. Maybe Leopardshine has had a history of killing cats and hiding it,” Oakpaw said.What am I saying? Oakpaw saw Treestar's ghostly figure in back of Tawnycloud. Did she make me say those things? Treestar nodded, and then a gust of wind ruffled the cat's fur.Oakpaw fluffed out his fur, to stand against the wind, and he saw that Treestar had been blown away in the wind.“So long, my old friend,” Oakpaw muttered to himself, “May you live a good life in StarClan.” “You know, that might've happened.” Tawnycloud said.Deadfire and Thorntail didn't look convinced. “It could have...” Deadfire meowed, his voice drifting. “Lets just get home!” Briarwish hissed, fluffing out her fur, “I'm not used to this coldness! We must go back to the camp, where it is warm, and talk about this with Stoneclaw and Rockstar. They will know what to do.”It has gotten cold, Oakpaw admitted. Deadfire grunted, and walked away from the group, toward RockClan camp. Thorntail, Tawnycloud, and Applepaw followed. Briarwish snorted, and followed with Oakpaw.They walked on the path, and the sun barely up. Guess we finished the patrol pretty early. The dirt on the paths were harder then normal, and every pawstep made a crunch. This is what frost does to our homes. Soon the warriors reached the camp, and in the entrance, Oakpaw spotted a golden colored tom, arguing with Stoneclaw.“But I have to see Nightfang!” The tom hissed.

sorry i waited so long to post this chapter. i saw that soem viewers were behind, so i gave them time to catch up! and here, is the rest. yes, another long chapter! not so long as the others though.

“Why? What do you have to do with her? She is perfectly safe in RockClan,” Stoneclaw spat. “I have to see her, because i'm her mate!” the tom screamed. Stoneclaw glared at him, and saw the patrol. The golden tom turned around to see the patrol. “What seems to be happening here, Stoneclaw? Some rouge wants to join again?” Deadfire joked.Stoneclaw glared back. “I'm no loner! I'm a warrior!” the golden tom hissed at Deadfire. “Really? What's your name? I bet it's Coal, or, wait, Charm!” Deadfire meowed. The tom's fur bristled, and he got up in Deadfire's face. “I'm no loner! My name is Goldenheart! My mate is Nightfang, and my son, is Birchkit! Now you let me see my family, or I'll rip your fox heart out!” The tom hissed. His' claws unsheathed. Deadfire growled, and Stoneclaw stepped between the cats.“He's speaking the truth!” Applepaw yowled. The cat's eyes all turned on her.

why? becuase there was a battle in Chapter 8 and 9? hmm. The next chapters will BLOW YA MIND! lol. if only there wasnt' a restriction on how many characters you cna put in a topic. i would post 2-4 chapters at a time.... it would be much better.
