Intellectual Dork wrote a story and wanted to post it on the forum, so ye...enjoy.

The grenade went off. "COVER!!" Dan shouted. Pern jumped behind the barricade. The grenade went off and the rebels screeched. Pern grinned. "Don't you just LOVE listening to their squeals?" Dan smiled weakly. "Yeah, but I'd like to live to HEAR those squeals again. MOVE!" Pern and Dan ran back to the base camp. Garrot was waiting for them. "Report, soldiers! Whats our status."
Pern grinned again. "Our status, commander, is kicking the chit outta those rebels. We will WIN this war!" the commander nodded approvingly, and motioned for them to follow him. Garrot sat down on the ground. "The morgue sir? Really?" The commander hid a smile. "Yes Pern. No one will follow us here." Dan scrunched his face up. It had to be something important if the commander
The commander sighed. "Boys I got bad news." Pern's grin vanished. "Sir?"
The commander sighed again, and for a moment showed the weariness on his face, the fear, the pain. But then composed himself and said, "The war's going badly. We've been putting up a brave face upstairs, but truth is, we're losing. We need a spy, an infiltrator to go into the rebels' base and go up high in the ranks. I decided to use you two, two new, loyal recruits."
Pern began to comprehend the situation. With a mix of apprehension and excitement on his face, he asked the commander when they'd start. "Right now. Go pack your things and get out. I’ll stay in contact."
Pern nodded solemnly. He and Dan went and packed their things and they creeped outside the rebels' base camp. "This is it," Pern said. "Fame and glory, here we come."'
