There was once a kingdom, where it was illegal to tell the truth.
The punishment was death.
A young man travelled to this kingdom, and heard about the crime of Lying.
'That is nonsense!' Shouted the boy. 'I will not be killed for telling a lie.'
But a royal guard had oveheard him, and asked him, 'Did you say you could evade punishment for lying?'
'No!' Replied the young man, brazenly.
'That is a lie!' Shouted the crowd that had gathered around him, and he was thrown into prison.
The next day he was bought before the king and a jury of twelve.
'You have been found guilty of lying, you may say one last sentence. If it is true, you will be drugged with a heavy sleeeping drought and will die painlessly. If it is a lie, you will be burned at stake, and die in absolute pain.
So the man spoke only 4 words, and the king released him.
What did the man say?
He said: "I will be burned"
