June Call of Duty Elite DLC Revealed and Released on Xbox 360

Another month, another Call of Duty Elite DLC drop.

Infinity Ward waited until the last minute to reveal this one, not giving any details on what it was until just before it was released. Perhaps that’s because it’s a bit…underwhelming…compared to some of the others. Other than a lone new Spec Ops mission, the rest of the DLC is all maps specifically for the Face Off game mode, which a lot of gamers seem to have little interest in. The good news is that, according to a tweet from Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin, these are likely the last Face Off maps that will show up in Elite DLC drops.

Here’s what your June DLC drop, which is available right now on the 360, will get you..

Arctic Recon Spec Ops Mission

-U-Turn Face Off Map
-Vortex Face Off Map
-Intersection Face Off Map

As usually, PS3 users will get this drop about a month later, and PC users will have to wait for the next Content Collection.

Spec Ops Glitch and Fix on Xbox 360 Version of Modern Warfare 3

Infinity Ward dropped a lot of content on the Xbox 360 today. MW3 got new DLC and a new title update, just as planned.

Not planned, was a glitch that came along with it. The glitch affects Spec Ops only, as it causes user’s Spec Ops rank to appear as if it is reset and prevents users from loading any of their Spec Ops DLC. According to the Modern Warfare 3 forum, the glitch only occurs when you have MW3 installed to your hard drive and you download the latest Elite DLC. Infinity Ward claims that the glitch has to do with a limit to the amount of DLC for one game.

It sounds scary, but if you happened to stumble across this post after freaking out that your Spec Ops rank was reset and all your DLC was erased, you can relax. There are multiple fixes for the glitch, and both are pretty painless.

Option 1) The first and easiest fix is to uninstall the game from your hard drive, and then re-install it. After doing so your Spec Ops rank should re-appear and your DLC will once again be accessible.

Option 2) If you don’t feel like uninstalling and re-installing the game, you can instead delete all of the DLC for MW3 and re-download it. As with option 1, this will clear up your rank and allow you to access your content again.

Call of Duty: MW3 Collection 2 will be available for PC tomorrow. This includes MP maps: Sanctuary, Foundation, Oasis + 2 Faceoff maps: Lookout, Getaway + 2 spec ops missions: Kill Switch, Iron Clad. This is alongside the release of the 2 FREE for everyone Faceoff maps: Erosion, Aground.

MW2 Favorite “Terminal” Multiplayer Map Coming to MW3 for FREE, Most Likely

It’s not official yet, however Mark Rubin, Executive Producer at Infinity Ward, has revealed via twitter that MW2 multiplayer map "Terminal" will most likely be coming to Modern Warfare 3 in the coming weeks. His exact words are “mostly confirming”.

It would not be part of the MW3 content schedule and since it’s not a new map it would be FREE of charge. Rubin also mentioned that most probably they will not be able to bypass the Xbox DLC exclusivity deal, therefore Xbox 360 gamers would receive it 1 month prior to PC and PS3. Elite membership will not play a role in this DLC release.

Double XP weekend for PC, PS3 & Xbox starts tomorrow (6/22/2012). Kill Confirmed is going to be pulled from Faceoff for the weekend. Capture The Flag will be put on Faceoff this weekend. Adding other modes will take some time. On Monday it will go back to TDM, KC.
