Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 PC Specs Revealed

reyarch has just released the minimum specs that will be required to play Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on your PC. They told us every little detail about running the newest addition to the Call of Duty franchise on your PC and this time around, it look like Windows XP is out.

Treyarch promised that they did many test runs of the game on different hardware and that they are confident in the ability to play the game at the minimum specs. The minimum specs are listed below.

- Windows 7 or OS: Windows Vista SP2
- Memory: 2GB for 32-bit OS or 4GB for 64-bit OS
- CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHz
- Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8800GT 512 MB or ATI Radeon HD 3870 512 MB

Unfortunately, all of you that are still running Windows XP will have to make an upgrade if you’re planning on playing Black Ops 2 on the PC. My advice is to upgrade now so you will be ready to play on the release date (November 13th).

Although the same engine from the first Black Ops is being used, they made numerous improvements to make the Call of Duty PC experience much more enjoyable. Treyarch stated that they greatly improved graphics, introduced a proprietary anti-cheat technology and changed many other things to enhance the overall performance of the game. Also, the engine was moved from DX9 to DX11. One of the biggest things is that the DX11 requires much less CPU time to do the exact same amount of work as before. All of the improvements that they are making will lead to a much better online gaming experience.

Make sure the game will be compatible with your computer and be ready to pick up your copy of Black Ops 2 on November 13th.

Black Ops 2: Details for Level Progression Revealed

Treyarch’s game director David Vonderhaar has revealed details that give Call of Duty fans clarity on the leveling up process of Black Ops 2. Since the studio is on its’ last leg of finishing up multiplayer’s unlock and level progression, they wanted to let us in on what they have been up to.

Vonderhaar stated that there will be a total of 55 levels per to unlock. The total amount of XP is going to be very similar to the amount needed to prestige in Modern Warfare 1 and World at War. He said that it will be much easier to level up because of all of the new Challenges and Medals that will give you a lot of XP. You will also be getting bonus XP every time you level up your guns.

Just as it was in the first Black Ops, you will unlock the “Create a Class” system at level 4. Since there is one token per level, you will be able to use a total of four tokens by the time you get to level four. Once you get Create a Class unlocked, you will be given a dozen free things that you can now equip. These items include:

- 1 Sniper Rifle
- 1 Shotgun
- 1 Light Machine Gun
- 1 Submachine Gun
- 1 Assault Rifle
- 1 Lethal Grenade
- 1 Tactical Grenade/Equipment
- 1 Perk from each of the 3 different perk categories.

Players will also have another dozen items (one item from each category) that they can choose between and unlock by using the 4 tokens that they acquired up to this point. One wild card will be including in this as well. A perk will be unlocked at level 5, equipment at level 6 and Scorestreaks at level 7. After getting to level 7, you will notice that three of the streaks will be available for free while three others are optional unlocks. Moving forward to level 8 will give you another perk while level 9’s reward is a new Scorestreak.

Once level 10 is reached, players will settle into a pattern. The pattern of gaining these things by leveling up will be repeating all the way to level 55. Obviously the pattern can’t be repeated perfectly, so there will be some minor variations along the way.

Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Information Blowout: Zombies, Prestige, and More!

With November 13th rapidly approaching, and the release of Black Ops 2 with it, Treyarch studios is pulling out all of the stops to build anticipation for the title and convince the doubters that they have truly evolved the franchise. They recently had some of our colleagues over to discuss some of the changes coming to Call of Duty's multiplayer.

While the multiplayer is certainly the most popular selling point to the Call of Duty franchise, there are still lots of people too intimidated by the legions of old pros out there to set foot online for fear of getting their rears handed to them over and over again. For everyone out there with a negative kill to death ratio, Treyarch has designed three different training modes:

Boot Camp: allows players to engage in a low pressure bout of Team Deathmatch with a combination of players and bots, and will reward experience up to level ten. Objective mode allows teams of players and bots to compete in objective-based game modes.

Objective Mode: allows players to rank past level ten, but will only reward half of the XP that regular online play would offer. Finally, in Bot Stomp, a team of players battles a team of bots in any game mode.

Bot Stomp: does not award any experience points, it is a good way to learn the basics of Call of Duty multiplayer, get a feel for the classes and weapons you like, and learn the maps.

Not to worry if you're too advanced for training, however, as Treyarch has included plenty to keep the prestige junkies among us occupied for a long time. In fact, they have changed the way prestiging works entirely. There will be ten prestige levels in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and they are no longer a hard reset of your challenges and unlocks. Now, upon reaching a new prestige level, players will be rewarded with one unlock token, and a choice of three prestige options. The unlock token can be used to unlock any item whatsoever, regardless of level requirements. Players will also be able to chose between a new create-a-class slot (up to five can be purchased, increasing the total number of available create-a-class slots to 10), a refund on all unlock tokens spent so far (essentially allowing a player to re-roll their character, MMO style), or a stat reset (for anyone who wants prestige to work the way it used to).

Wager matches have been rebranded as “Party Games,” and now reward experience points and progression like any other standard multiplayer gameplay mode. Game modes include:

- One in the Chamber
- Gun Game
- Sticks and Stones
- Sharpshooter

Hardpoint is a fast-paced new game mode in which players must compete to hold a randomly selected spot on the map for a set period of time before it relocates somewhere else. Hardpoint, along with Kill Confirmed and Team Deathmatch, will be multi-team matches, for up to six teams at a time. All game modes, however, will be extremely customizable. Players can create custom games to suit their preferences with a large variety of options, including bots, changing the pick 10 system anywhere from a pick three to a pick 17 system, scoring options, and more.

Treyarch has also rolled out a suite of new options for the more artistically inclined shooter fans out there, including a 32 layer emblem editor complete with transparency and RGB colour scale options, over 150 selectable backgrounds of various unlockable shapes for your player card, and expanded theatre options. In addition to the dolly cam, which makes its return from previous Call of Duty titles, Treyarch has created the Sticky Cam, which can be set to follow any object in the game, such as rockets or quadrotor killstreak rewards.

The maximum clip count for the videos players can create has been raised up to 20, and Treyarch has even added the option of merging your 20 clips into one clip in order to make some truly epic videos. Don't worry if you don't want to edit anything yourself, though; the new 'highlight reel' option will automatically go through a match and collect your greatest moments in one awesome video. All of these editing options, in conjunction with Black Op's new social features (such as an upvote/downvote system for videos, and the previously revealed COD casting options), make it clear that the sky is really the limit with Black Ops 2 multiplayer video creation.

Finally, Treyarch has made some substantial changes to their much loved Zombies mode. The biggest news of them all, that Zombies mode will be running on the multiplayer engine, means that players will have access to Leaderboards, stat tracking, matchmaking, custom games, and all of their multiplayer rank progression and unlocks. There have been three game types for the Zombies mode revealed so far: Tranzit, Survival, and Grief. Tranzit mode is the default Zombies game type, and is essentially the original zombies mode on steroids. In Tranzit, players will travel across a large world, either on foot or by bus, collecting objects that can be used to build things like weapons, and surviving as long as they can. Survival is the game mode most closely related to the original Zombies mode, which will put players in a small segment of the Tranzit map where they must hold out as long as possible. The final game mode, Grief, is a competitive mode in which two teams compete to be the last team standing against the zombie horde. Players will not be able to harm each other in this mode, but will instead compete with teamwork, and as the name implies, doing their best to ensure the other team's failure.

Call of Duty was once lambasted by critics for not evolving the formula enough between iterations. With all of the changes coming to the franchise this November with the launch of Black Ops 2, however, Treyarch may have just silenced their critics for quite some time. Excited for the changes, or do you like your Call of Duty just the way it is?

Black Ops 2 Zombie Mode Revealed

One of the most anticipated moments for Call of Duty Black Ops 2 has finally arrived; the trailer for zombie mode has officially been released to the public. The trailer shows fans that players will be able to travel by bus to different locations in a desperate attempt to survive waves of zombies.

In addition to the trailer, we were also given multiple details about the fan favorite mode. Instead of only having one type of zombie mode, there will be three different game modes – Survival, Grief and Tranzit.

Survival mode is going to be nothing new to zombie killing veterans, as it will be very similar to the zombie mode from previous Call of Duties. There will be a few smaller sections within the Tranzit world that will act as self-contained levels.

Tranzit is going to be the primary zombie mode for Black Ops 2, which will add new dynamics and strategies when it comes to slaughtering the undead. Unlike the regular Survival mode, Tranzit will feature a very large and open world. Within this world, up to four players will be able to venture on foot or use the bus to their advantage and travel faster. As seen in the trailer above, the bus can be a very important tool for survival, but be careful; the bus can also be difficult to escape from if zombies overrun it. Another new addition is that players will be able to collect items throughout the Tranzit world. These items that the players find can then be combined to form new weapons and equipment. An example of this is clearly shown in the trailer with a riot shield that is made of different parts.

The third and final game mode is known as Grief. Grief will pit two teams of four against each other in the midst of the zombie apocalypse. The goal of this game type is to simply outlast the other team of four. Opposing teams cannot actually shoot each other, so players will have to conjure up creative ways to lure zombies to their enemy team.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is set to be released this year on November 13th on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, while the Wii U will get it on a later date.

Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Maps Leaked?

Apparently a beta version of Black Ops 2 was leaked recently, allowing the list of multiplayer maps that will be featured in the game to be extracted. Although this list has not been confirmed by Treyarch or Activision, there is still reason to believe that this list is actually legitimate. If it is in fact accurate, then these will be the multiplayer maps that all of us will be able to enjoy when Black Ops 2 is released.

Carrier – Chinese super carrier. Good close quarter battles through the hull and open engagements on deck.
Cargo – Port of Singapore. Really great map for close quarter fights.
Drone – Hidden drone facility in the center of the Mynamar jungles. Close quarter engagements through the facility and long engagements down the center.
Express – Los Angeles bullet train station. Made for medium to long range engagements.
Hijacked – A very large super yacht. Includes crazy close quarter battles.
Aftermath – Takes place in a destroyed downtown Los Angeles after an invasion.
Meltdown – Nuclear power plant in Pakistan. Contains a nuclear cooling tower with other facilities surrounding it.
Nightclub – A resort in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Map specifically designed for close quarter battles and tight corners throughout.
Overflow – Peshawar, Pakistan. Battles take place in the flooded streets of this urban city.
Raid – Large hillside mansion in the Hollywood Hills. Extremely close quarter engagements.
Slums – Takes place in a section of Panama. Another close quarter combat map containing tough choke points.
Socotra – Located in the urban streets of Yemen. Close quarter engagements and constant battles.
Turbine – Another map that takes place in Yemen. This time it’s at a wind farm in the hills. Epic battles take place across different types of terrain.
Village – Originally Yemen.
