Black Ops 2 Perks

The perk slots have not been created yet. Each perk in Black Ops will have a base version and two different variants (called Elite and Pro). The Pro variant can be unlocked by levelling up and completing challenges. The Elite variant can only be used in conjunction with another perk!

Spy

Spy allows you to appear on the enemy's mini-map as a friend. i.e. You'll show up as a green team mate on the mini-map. This obviously has it's fair share of advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, you can fool the enemy team into thinking you're one of them. However, on the other hand, if you're in a 1v1 situation in a game mode such as Search and Destroy, the enemy player will instantly know your position. Spy is an interesting perk to say the least.

Spy Pro: This allows you to identify enemy players that are using the Spy perk.

Spy Elite: If you have the Pilot perk selected, your killstreak will show up on the mini-map as a friendly killstreak to enemy players (i.e. it'll show enemy players a green helicopter etc).

Escape Artist

Escape Artist allows you to feign / fake death while you are diving into a prone position. So basically, when you're going into a prone position, the animation will look as if you have just died. Not sure if I like the thought of this being a perk to be honest. Not sure how they'll implement this correctly. Apparently, you can not shoot while you are faking death (that's a relief).

Escape Artist Pro: While you are diving into prone / approaching your (fake) death, the enemy's crosshairs will turn back to a white color and the red name above your head will disappear. This obviously makes the animation more believable to enemy players.

Escape Artist Elite: If you have the Diver perk selected, Escape Artist Elite will allow to realistically fall into a death animation instead of actually diving.

Audiophile

Audiophile allows you to see players that are using silenced weapons. However, you will only be able to see them if they are shooting at you or if they are nearby.

Audiophile Pro: This makes enemy footsteps louder (Like Sitrep Pro).

Audiophile Elite: If you have the perk Bladesman selected, knifing will show up on your radar. i.e. if an enemy player knifes somebody, he or she will appear as a red dot on the mini-map.

Defuser

Defuser allows you to throw all equipment (except frag grenades) twice as far. When you go to throw your equipment, a circled timer will appear in place of your crosshairs. This timer obviously lets you decide how far you want to throw your sticky semtex etc. The timer lasts for 3 seconds. If you throw it at 0-1 seconds, it will go the regular distance. If you throw it at 3 seconds, it'll go twice as far as normal.

Defuser Pro: Lets you pick up enemy equipment and use it as your own (claymores etc). Also allows you to take semtex off yourself/team mates and throw it back.

Defuser Elite: If you have the perk Quickdraw selected, the circled timer will last for 1.5 seconds instead of 3 (allowing you to throw your equipment much faster).

Juggernaut

Juggernaut will allow you to regain health faster WHILE you are moving. i.e. it will not work like the Juggernaut perk found in COD 4, which gave you extra health. Your health will not regain faster if you are standing/crouching in a stationary position.

Juggernaut Pro: This lets you regain your health faster while you are crouching.

Juggernaut Elite: If you have the perk Scavenger selected, you will be able to drop ammo packs for your team mates.

Diver

Diver allows you to dive into cover. AKA, it will allow you to Dolphin Dive. Apparently, you can actually shoot while you are diving. However, once you hit the floor, it will take a while for you to recover and begin shooting again.

Diver Pro: This allows you to crawl along the floor at twice the normal rate. i.e you'll be crawling faster.

Diver Elite: If you have the perk Extreme Conditioning selected, you can crawl 3 times faster if you hold down the spring button (left analog stick).

Pilot

Pilot allows your flying killstreaks to count towards your next killstreak. i.e. the killstreak will loop.

Pilot Pro: Your controllable killstreaks (chopper gunner etc) will last until they are shot down. i.e. they won't have a timer.

Pilot Elite: If you have the perk Blind Eye selected, your killstreaks will not show up on the mini-map.

Technician

Technician allows your ground killstreaks (dogs etc) to count towards your next killstreak.

Technician Pro: Your Advanced UAV will disable the enemy's UAV.

Technician Elite: If you have the perk Defuser on, your sentries can not be taken down straight away. I'm not entirely sure what this means. This is how the source that leaked this information phrased it.

Bladesman

Bladesman allows you to carry two knives instead of one (a knife in each hand). This basically allows your knife to kill twice as fast (according to the leak, regular knives won't be a one hit kill).

Bladesman Pro: This gives you the chance to avoid an enemy player's knife lunge. Not sure if this is based on "luck" or if you have to hit a certain button.

Bladesman Elite: If you have the perk Assassin selected, knifing will be completely silent. Your knife kill also won't appear on the killfeed. This is unless the enemy player is using Audiophile Elite.

Consciousness

Consciousness allows you be as accurate as you are while prone. When a player is prone, the recoil on his gun is less than usual. Consciousness allows you to be just as accurate while standing up.

Consciousness Pro: When you shoot an enemy, they will flinch more than usual. In case you didn't know, flinching is basically when your aim gets pushed off because you're taking damage.

Consciousness Elite: If you have the Marksman perk active, shooting your enemy will leave them as a red dot on the mini-map. This is similar to Recon Pro in MW3.

Focus

Focus allows you to shoot while sprinting. I'm guessing that SMG rushers will favor this perk. However, sprinting and shooting at the same time will lead to a deduction in accuracy.

Focus Pro: Allows you to shoot while jumping.

Focus Elite: If you have Stalker selected as a perk, enemy equipment such as claymores will cause less damage if you're jumping.

Deep Impact

Deep Impact allows you to shoot through hard surfaces.

Deep Impact Pro: Your bullets will gain 50% extra damage for each enemy player that they go through (useless when shooting at multiple enemies).

Deep Impact Elite: If you have Steady Aim selected, your bullets will gain 10% extra damage for each enemy player that they go through while you are hip-firing.

There are other perks (as referenced by the Elite variant of each perk), however the source that supposedly leaked this information did not go into further details about them.

Black Ops 2 New "Pick 10" System, "Wildcards" and "Multi-Team Multiplayer" Detailed

Treyarch has completely revamped the multiplayer aspect of Black Ops 2. Starting with the killstreaks, which have been replaced with “Score Streaks”, a new system that rewards not only kills but accomplishing objectives as well.

Pick 10

The Create-a-Class from previous Call of Duty games has been completely changed for Black Ops 2. Now called “Pick 10”, it features ten customization slots to complete with class options rather than usual primary, secondary, equipment and so on. For example a primary weapons with one attachments will use up 2 points and three perks for 3 points. This will create hundreds of possible load out options.

Wildcard

This new feature works together with the “Pick 10” and allows players to use one the points for a “Wildcard” option. These points can be used for such options as having 3 attachments on your primary weapon or let’s you choose and extra perk.

Please find below all available Wildcards:

- Primary Gunfighter — Allows a 3rd attachment for the primary weapon.
- Secondary Gunfighter — Allows a 2nd attachment for the secondary weapon.
- Overkill — Take a primary weapon as your secondary weapon.
- Danger Close — Take a second Lethal.
- Perk 1 Greed — Take a second Perk 1.
- Perk 2 Greed — Take a second Perk 2.
- Perk 3 Greed — Take a second Perk 3.
- Tactician — Take a Tactical grenade in place of your lethal Grenade.

Multi-Team Multiplayer

Yes another new feature is the ability to have multiple teams fight it out at once in various multiplayer modes. It allows up to six teams with a maximum of 18 players in all. This new feature will definitely add a new twist to the multiplayer mode.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Details Revealed

Many of us avid Call of Duty fans have fantasized about what guns, perks, kill streaks, etc. would appear in Black Ops 2. Finally the time has come to slightly ease our minds and give us a little taste of what direction the franchise is moving in. Although not everything has been revealed, Treyarch still gave us fans a whole lot to take in about the multiplayer of their new upcoming game. One of the most exciting changes that they are releasing has to do with multiplayers’ Create-A-Class feature. They are sidestepping from the normal class structure and moving forward to expand our ability to customize. Instead of having the original labeled slots (such as Primary Weapon, Secondary Weapon, Perk 1, etc.), there will be a new point structure known as the ‘Pick 10’ system. This system gives players 10 points in order to buy weapons, equipment, and perks. Here is the twist; you can pretty much spend these points however you want. Let’s say you never even use your secondary weapon. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to get rid of it and replace it with something else? Well with this ‘Pick 10’ system you can do just that. You will have the ability to scrap your secondary weapon for some points, which you will then be able to spend on something else like a second weapon attachment. Also, players will be given the opportunity to buy something known as ‘Wildcards’ for a point a piece. These wildcards will allow you to further customize your classes. For example, the ‘Perk Greed I’ Wildcard gives you the chance to pick two perks from Tier 1. Wildcards can also be used to carry more grenades or have three attachments on one gun. My first thought was to just use these to be an unstoppable force with eight perks.Luckily, there are some guidelines that will keep everything balanced, which is probably for the best. Another change will be applied to Kill Streaks, which will now be known as Score Streaks. Every single Score Streak will have a point value, forcing you to get a particular point value before you can use that streak. For example, if you wanted a UAV, you would have to get a total of 300 points. This can now be achieved in a variety of ways; you can kill one person (100 pts.), grab an enemy flag and return your team’s flag (total of 200pts.). Or you can simply kill three people which would give you 300 points as well. Any combination of getting kills or capturing an objective will work, just as long as it ends up being enough points to equal the score streak that you want. Some of the Score Streaks that you can get have cool twists that we haven’t seen before. For instance, if you call in an AGR (a tank with four legs and two mounted canons), you have the opportunity to control it from a first-person viewpoint. The difference here is that you also have the chance for it to move on its own. By simply pressing a button, you can switch between controlling it yourself and having it venture around on its’ own.

Within this reveal, there were also some really cool weapons that were said to make an appearance in multiplayer. The Assault Shield is similar to a normal Call of Duty riot shield, except with this one you can stick it into the ground for cover. My favorite attachment that was talked about is known as the Millimeter Wave Scanner. What this does is it gives players the ability to look through walls and identify stationary enemies. Campers are now going to have to get a little more creative if they want to stay in one location for extended periods of time. Some other legit weapons are the War Machine (small grenade launcher that shoots explosives into the air) and the Death Machine (a Gatling gun that many of you may recognize from playing Zombies in previous Call of Duty games).

The final thing that stood out to me was a new playlist called Hardpoint. In this game type, players need to control a portion of the map. Seems simple enough right? Oh and I forget to mention, this zone switches to different parts of the map at random. So Hardpoint is essentially just like King of the Hill, except for that the hill moves around throughout the game. On top of that, the game can now include up to four separate teams fighting against each other. This is going to add a whole new dynamic to how Call of Duty will be played and I can’t wait.

Amazingly, Treyarch has even more multiplayer information to reveal as the release date (November 13th) of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 rapidly approaches. Don’t forget, they also have yet to talk about what we should expect with the extremely popular Zombie Mode. So yet again, Call of Duty still has us hold our breath as we wait for more details to be revealed.

Black Ops 2 Zombies Interview

With the release date of Black Ops 2 rapidly approaching, many Call of Duty fans have been impatiently waiting for more information about the game. At Gamescom this past week, Treyarch has released numerous details about Black Ops 2 multiplayer. Even though it’s exciting to hear about all of this, there is still one thing that is on everyone’s mind and that’s Zombie Mode.

No official trailer has been released for Zombies, however, there was an interview recently conducted with Treyarch Studio Head, Mark Lamia. The interview gives us a basic overview of what to expect with Zombies this time around. As expected, it was confirmed that a detailed trailer revolved around Zombie Mode will be released in the near future (no specific date was stated).

In the interview, Lamia tells us that Zombies will be bigger in every way. He revealed that not only will the world be bigger, but there will also be new gameplay mechanics embedded within this game mode. Treyarch stated that they wanted to make sure that they didn’t take away from the essence of the Zombie Mode that is beloved by millions. Instead, they added on to it, giving it much more depth. Lamia said that there are many different ways to approach Zombies, “the strategies in this one are going to blow your mind.” He also confirmed the rumors that there will not only be the original four player mode, but an eight player mode as well. According to the interview, Treyarch likes to call the eight player mode “4z4.” Lamia didn’t go into any more detail than that but is it possible that this means there will be four players on a team pitted against four other players in the midst of a zombie apocolypse? Or does this mean that four of the eight will be able to play as zombies? As of now, all we can do is speculate and wait for the official reveal of Black Ops 2 Zombie Mode.

I know some of these details were briefly mentioned a couple of months ago, but I wanted to share this information with the masses since it’s all confirmed in this very recent interview with Mark Lamia at Gamescom. I don’t know about you guys, but I couldn’t be more excited to start mowing down those undead mobs. What do all of you think? Are there any particular changes that you believe they should make to Zombie Mode?

New Black Ops 2 Multiplayer Game Modes “Hardpoint” and “Party Games” Introduced

With the official Black Ops 2 multiplayer reveal at this year’s GamesCom, Treyarch has introduced the brand new game mode Hardpoint as well as the new Party Games.

Hardpoint is basically a variation of the popular “King of the Hill” game mode. It features 1 single control point, usually at the center of the map, which has to be captured and then controlled to win. Scoring for the new game mode is based on 1 point per second, while holding down the “Hardpoint” for the time limit. Additionally Domination has been changed to a round based gameplay with the objectives remaining the same, only switching sides in the middle of the game to eliminate any advantages a team may have on beginning the game on certain side of the map.

Party Games will be the new version of Wager Matches in Black Ops 2. According to a recent interview with NowGamer, Game Design Director at TeryArch David Vonderhaar has stated: "In Black Ops they were called Wager Matches, and there was the 'gambling' component. But those somewhat oddball, out-of-context, just kind of fun game modes are actually going to make a fairly significant return in Black Ops 2, as what we call Party Games.”

"Party games is how we think about that – we think about them as you and I just goofing off, having some fun in this arguably slightly silly game mode. We love making those game modes, and they'll be a part of this game too. They just don't have the mechanic of gambling in them in that way, because there are no CoD points."

More details about the Black Ops 2 multiplayer will be released in about 3-4 weeks according to TreyArch.
