Why?

Postby Shadowstar1922 » 24 Jul 2014, 01:16

Why does society never ask children and men what they were wearing when they get raped?

How come society doesn't tell children and men that they were asking for it?

How come society doesn't tell children and men that they deserved to be raped because of their behavior?

Why is it, that people can sympathize with children and men being raped but society finds difficulty having the same opinion when women get raped?

  1. Society never asks children and men what they were wearing because it only believes that girls in 'skimpy' clothes are going to get molested, which is 100% incorrect. When a girl wears 'skimpy' clothing, yes, she may be drawing attention to her body, but she is in no way asking for sex. There is not a label written on her crop top that says 'I need sex, give me some'. In my opinion, revealing clothing says 'Hey, I'm proud of my body, I accomplished a body shape I am comfortable with and I would like to share it with you'. Society also seems to believe that people aren't gonna get raped if they're in a pair of sweat pants and a hoodie. But in reality, rapists don't give a shit about what you're wearing. And neither should society because no one asks for rape with what they wear or with anything at all.

  2. Society doesn't tell children and men that they were asking for it because rape culture is, sadly, a thing that exists and it believes that if a girl is dressed in 'skimpy' clothing, she's entitled to be raped. It is a horrible mentality because no one is ever entitled to rape.

  3. Society doesn't tell children and men that they were raped because of their behavior because when a guy has lots of sex and is really promiscuous, he is congratulated. But, when a girl does the same thing, she's put down with words like 'slut' or 'whore'. No one ever puts a guy down for having lots of sex, so what right do they have to do that with a girl? And they can't tell that to a child because most people aren't that flirtatious in their younger years because their hormones haven't kicked in yet.

  4. People sympathize with children and men because they're sexist. There's a common belief that men are more important than women because for a long time, women were only allowed to work at home and not allowed to have any of the fun jobs. Back in the time of Annie Oakley, the first famous female sharpshooter, said that she was offended because when a man hits a bulls-eye, they're a marksman, but when she did it, she was 'a good shot'. This is only one example of a woman doing the same job as a man, but practically being told right to her face that's she's not good enough to be called a name that will put her on the same level as a man.

  5. Humanity sucks, that's why.

Thank you for your time, I know a few things might be wrong, but I tried my best with the things I knew.
that was dramatic. still ready 2 die tho!

Right on pretty much all accounts. Though I suppose most people call BS when a man gets raped, because he apparently has to be aroused;untrue, by the way. I think that may be a thing. Just a wee thought from me.

there's also same-sex rape but nobody ever talks about same-sex female rape only same-sex male rape, which is odd

Yeah, I suppose it's because the estimated figures are higher than the figures of male to male rape in prisons is higher than the estimated figures of Male to female rape outside of prisons
