The 1999 Bridge Creek F5 Tornado

On May 3, 1999, a tornado outbreak lasting for 3 days, began with a bang, when an F5 formed at about 7:12 PM local time. This tornado was the most powerful windstorm ever recorded on Earth, at 318 mph. It killed 36 people, and traveled northeast from Amber, OK, through Bridge Creek and Moore. Moore is a southern suburb of Oklahoma City, and had the tornado veered north into the city, it would have probably caused more deaths than any other tornado in history, and become the costliest.

8,000 houses were obliterated. It shredded large vehicles with debris, and then wrapped them around telephone poles, threw them completely through warehouses, whipped 2×4s through wheel hubs, and pine straw all the way through 8-inch-thick pine trees.

This was the first time that the local weather stations reported over radio that if residents were not securely underground, they would be killed. Hiding under mattresses in bathtubs, in ditches, or under overpasses was insufficient.
"Toto i dont think we're in kansas anymore" hehe

I believe the world record shattering flood I'm experiencing right now isn't on the list? The Harpeth River flowed BACKWARDS!!! I had no food for two days, and most areas of middle Tennessee still have no electricity. Seventeen people died in my county alone. I believe two counties still have to boil their water before drinking it, and many of the people have no dry wood or electricity! I could go on for days just about my home and those of my neighbours...

Hahahaha..... Hahahaha..... You act as if I live in like, Iowa. Tennessee has never flooded like this. Not in 1979 when we had that hurricane. Not in 1993 in the blizzards. Not even in the earthquakes a couple hundred years ago. Nobody knows what to do. Even them old farmers been here forever never seen nothin like it. Oh and no power = no news = clueless people = more deaths. Aaaaaand two of the three water treatment plants are dead. Have you ever watched someone clinging to a tree for dear life, praying they won't drown today? And nobody has insurance for floods because floods don't happen. Especially not in may, for petes sake. And the water that does come out of the tap now tastes really bad and i'm not allowed to drink it anymore. Lalalalala.....
