It is not a mosque.

It is a cultural centre, designed to bring together america, it contains basketball courts, a swimming pool, and a prayer room. It will even hold cooking classes.

It is designed for everyone. Not muslims, or jews, or any paticular faith.

Also, it's 2 blocks away from ground zero.

Honestly, read the facts and get over it. Some kind people (whether they be muslim or not) thought it would be a nice idea to bring together the community.

And conny, if an american did something like that, if any american did something wrong, would you say that about them? If you were in hospital and a muslim doctor saved your life, would you say that to him?

What do you mean nuke Iraq and Afghanistan? How would you feel if someone says, "I don't care, let's just kill conny today" Muslims are not Nazi. That's sheer ignorance. ... Why is Everyone so riled up? Because what happened to twin towers is totally unacceptable. and then the people from the same community want to build their place of worship there. Imagine someone nukes your house up killing all you beloved people and then they demand a place of worship in the same place. This is what an average person would think. The thing is the place where they want to build is 2 blocks away, but still it would infuriate anyone. However, they were not the same people who attacked those towers, so maybe thats what is keeping the debate on. Anyway, my opinion is, "i am not concerned at all, I dont stay in the USA, nor I am a Muslim, so the intelligent people will decide what to do."

I don't understand why we can't all at least attempt to understand each other. As a young American, I want to know everything I can about this issue so someday I can tell my children and grandchildren what it was like when I was their age. I feel it's the responsibility of the youth to stand up and say it isn't okay to be hateful, as the youth is the future of our world. Fight for change! Fight for freedom! Doesn't it feel wonderful to contribute, no matter where you come from? The reason I made this topic is so I could see opinions from people outside of America as well as here. Knowledge is beautiful, it sets you free.

If the New York community don't allow a muslim centre near ground zero, then they are being just as bad as the terrorists claiming to be muslim that created ground zero.

The same logic that disallows people of a certain faith from practicing it in their own country is the same logic that destroyed the towers in the first place.
