Not before. (That's why it's very difficult to have a graveyard for an unborn child, in most countries even impossible (life/death certificates and all that).)
Now that might seem cruel, and is a bit outdated.
Especially when it comes down to abortions.
So there is a very strict timelimit where we can safely say even medically say that it isn't a person yet.
What you hold is a more personal opinion, which is in many cases based on what you believe.
Which is irrelevant really.
As the majority of the people believe differently and that's democracy at work.
You're using circular logic. Our laws are correct concerning a fetus not becoming human until birth because our laws say that a fetus is not human until birth?
I do realize the difference we must have between personal opinion and governance, but the government can't simply ignore the topic and leave the arguing to uninformed opinionated nobodies. Lets get some cold hard science up in here.
(I'm so late with this)
After looking back on it, Hito sounds a biiit wrong. Not, his words, what he said about the Government.
If the Government sees that you are not human until birth, then why is it so bad and you get charged with more crimes if you kill a pregnant woman? Oh, because you killed a potential life. Well, isn't the same what you're doing to fetuses in abortions?Right? I'm not saying that killing a pregnant woman is fine. But, if you do, you should only be charged with one murder, since by Law, you only killed one person.
See how that backfires?
It angers me when things like this happen with laws in the Government. And they're so obvious, it's always curious to me on how normal every day people like us on the forums make more valid points than political debates when they defend their policies. The voters give better defenses xD
Anyways, I think abortions are completely fine. A woman should be able to do whatever the hell she wants to do with her body. Republicans have never been a woman(except female Republicans, though majoirty of Republicans are male) so how can they make laws on women when A) it's not their body, B) They've never had experience of being a woman, so how do they know how it feels enough to make certain laws on them, and even demanding rights being taking away, and C) Human rights should NEVER be taken away, for they solve nothing.
Illigalizing Abortions, forcing children to grow up in an unwanted home would push them to becoming criminals, which would extremely raise the crime rate in a matter of generations. Look at countries where abortions have been illegal for quite some time. Most of them have a strangely high crime rate. Why is that? Because the children who were forced to grow up in an wanted home became criminals.
If Republicans want to take away the option of abortion, they should fund Adoption centers, so when families, more specifically women are forced into debt and becoming poor because the child they were forced to have wiped out all their money, they could give up the child so this type of thing doesn't happen. Give the child to wanting families who can't have children, or are gay.
