Savings Tax
Savings Tax
I was watching BBC World News this mornin', and saw something about a Eurozone tax on savings accounts? Including a 9.9% tax on accounts holding more than $100,000? (Don't have the euro symbol, but $=Euro, not dollars in this instance.)

Exactly how it sounds like.
My bad, thought it was on the whole of the Eurozone.

Re: Savings Tax
not really a tax, as the people end up getting shares in the banks and possibly bonds from the government.

Re: Savings Tax
I beleive it effects everyone with savings, but the worst affected will be those with over €100,000 in savings. And the banks still have't opened there, as they fear all the money will be withdrawen. I wonder why....
