Re: texting while drving
Personally, I think if persons choose to text and drive, it's their own choice. I mean it's a matter of listening. I have that ability to drive, of course I don't, and the fact of the matter is, I'm a phone addict. If I get behind the wheel, I'm bound to text.. but it's kind of like drinking and driving..
You can tell, even beg someone not to do it..but in the end.. its that persons fault for not listening. Face the consiquences. THINK SMART.

You notice that pretty much every single fatal accident caused by texting/talking and driving, its not the person w/ the phone who gets killed, its the innocent ones... Maybe I'm the only one who sees this, but seriously.
Its ridiculous really. . . If you're going to drive then drive, pay attention before you kill someone.
And yes, it is their fault, but how do you think the families of those who have lost a child or parent or whoever because of a cellphone driver feel? Some mistakes should never happen, killing someone because you were too busy loling your bff's comment about that cutie at the bar last night is one of those things.

I never said I didnt care, either. I just said, if they choose to do it, they should accept the consequences. A passanger in the vehicle that witnesses the injustice of texting behind the wheel and doesn't try to deprive the driver of the phone is just as responsible. It's the same fact as drunk driving. If persons (non-drunk) decide to get in vehicle with persons (drunk) that is driving, that person should be well aware of the consequences.. and it doesnt always end in tragedy...
This doesn't include the same rules that apply to those 11 and under, because they kind of can't grasp the concept as well..but that isnt going to stop people from doing it.
Take Shain Gandee, just died from drunk driving, of course he knew the consequences, because he stated them on the show..but sometimes.. that isnt enough to change a persons mind. And we just have to accept that. Sorry the world can't be kind to us.

Re: texting while drving
I agree with Lightning Orb on this.
People have died from texting for a long time now, long enough to show and tell people to not do it. Same with drunk driving. Don't do it.
Though, me agreeing with this, and Lightning Orb stating it, doesn't mean we don't care or completely disregard it as a tragedy. We just now see it as something that isn't so bad, since it could have been prevented, and like she said, it was their choice.
