Just pointing something out, that stricter gun laws only makes it harder for law abiding citizens to obtain guns. A person intending to use a gun for criminal activity can and will be able to obtain a gun regardless of how strict the gun laws (at least in the case of the United States.)
Also, the purpose of the 2nd Amendment was to make sure that the people of the United States would be able to fight back against a Tyrannical Government. Not worded in the best way, but you get the idea.
