Zados is right, saying all of Germany committed the holocaust is wrong. Just because Germans did doesn't mean all Germans did. By that logic all men are murderers, because quite a few have committed murder. Plus this is a dark history that Germany has long struggled to come to terms with and overcome.
My experience of Germany is that of it being one of the most tolerant places I've been, racially, sexually and religiously. Of course this wont be true of all of Germany, but you can't say that all of America is tolerant either, just look at the attitudes stereotypical of the Deep South.

Plus, if you were to be intolerant of the muslim centre being built, you are playing into the hands of the extremists who claim to be muslim. They want you to fear and hate all Muslims, the more of a negative attitude you show to the whole faith, the more recruitment they get from disillusioned young Muslims.
