Life after Death

I watched a documentary last night about people having near death experiences when they die on operating tables and then brought back to life. Most of these people were having lovely visions of seeing old relatives who had died, seeing themselves floating above the operating table, watching as the doctors did their best to save them.
the whole idea intrigues me. I'd like to believe there is something more after we die. Not necessarily in terms of what religions say, but in a spiritual context.
what do you think? Do you know anyone who's had a near death experience?

I usually bother thinking about life after death, I just concern myself with living the life I know I have.

There's definitely something after death... two options, actually. 'Course one has to decide before they die, haha.. But yes. Either gets better or it gets worse.
My uncle had a near death experience where his heart stopped pumping. I haven't heard if he experienced this, though. There's a cool Christian song ("Lazarus" by Carman) that speaks of this issue. It's quite interesting, whether you're a Christian and believe in this stuff or not, lol...

When I hear people almost dying, and they're "legally" dead, and they claim I met God, I went to Hell/Heaven, I don't believe that. I don't believe it one bit that they actually went there.
Why?
Because their body was going through a lot of trauma and when your body goes through a lot of trauma, whether physical or emotional, sometimes your body will like, play images in your mind, put you in a place that's related to what's happening. Your consciousness basically hallucinates xD So, when someone's dying since they grew up their whole life, believing in Heaven and Hell, so when the moment comes to almost die, but your body is still alive, your brain most likely plays you all these images pertaining to it and stuff. .-.
I'm not sure this is entirely true, since I've talked to people who have been through a lot of physical, emotional, or both, trauma and they tell me that they felt like something was different, that they were in another place when they closed their eyes when it was physical, or emotional, they could see things differently, or in some cases make up an imaginary friend they could actually see. But then one or two out of the, I think it was 17? of my friends and aqaintences who didn't go through anything of that.
It's all confusing, but it makes sense.

I think it is the soul which visits the things that people say they saw after their death or near the experience. Soul must come back in order for them to come back alive. . . Other than that, I believe in the Life after Death.

Nah I'll have to side with Shadowstar on this one.
For all I know it could even be made up.
But then again, Frook, difference in age means difference in beliefs most of the time.
The older you get the more you want to believe in continuation of life.

heyyy are you saying I'm old?
look, the way I see it, the universe is a living organism, we are a part of that organism. When we die, we simply get digested by the universe and transformed into something else. Nothing ends... nothing begins... it just continues.
