Nuclear War with North Korea

I'm all for it if Korea wants to destroy the world as we know it. Especially because I'll be fighting in the war (most likely) if they do start anything. I can't wait! O_O

Now to be serious; N-Korea would have to be completely idiotic to wage war with the US. I watched the news with the story and CHINA will NOT back them up in a war they would fight with the US. And even then, the UN would shove their foot straight up N-Korea's (you know where I was going with that sentence). And if they even think about Launching a NUKE or IBM at us, the earth will go to hell and look like hell after all is done and over with.

It'd be a short war. China wouldn't back them if they initiated the aggression, and they know it. Even if they did strike first, the AEGIS and Patriot missiles would shoot them down and render them useless. Then we'd have NATO route forces into South Korea.
Our airforce and navy would wipe them out, while NATO forces in India and South Korea invade. China and Russia wouldn't intervene, and then North Korea would be doomed.

It wouldn't really be a short war. You're forgetting about 3 MAJOR points.
1. They kinda have a 1 Million Man ARMY. Not entire armed forces, JUST THE ARMY! Well trained, prolly brainwashed, and also fearless.
2. AEGIS/Patriot missiles - They wouldn't work for a couple reasons. A: They'd use ICBM's to attack USA and each ICBM would have at LEAST 6 Nuclear warheads in them. They'd launch the warheads from the ICBM at a good range from the coast and would kaboozle everything. B: They wouldnt just send 1 missile. that'd be stupid. They'd send at LEAST 5, more than likely 10 or 15. C: Stealth Bombers? North Korea has them too. We cant pick them up. Duck and Cover.
3. Iran - You're forgetting about the #1 country that hates the US the most aside from North Korea. If 2 people hate 1 person, they'll prolly team up against them. Same thing with countries.
As you can see, the end result of ANY conflict started would be WWIII and a Nuclear Holocaust.

1.) It's not well trained, and the majority are armed with RPGs. Inaccurate at best. Not to mention how easy it would be to make the rockets rupture and explode before they can even fire them. They also only spend about 4 billion on military, compared to the 27 billion south korea spent, the 40 billion Japan spent, the 32 billion India spent ,and the 700 billion the US spent.

2.) They're barely even making regular nukes now. XD They have at least 15-20 years before they reach ICBMs.

3.) Iran isn't a factor right now. Turkey and Israel alone can handle them.Israel's done it before.

So it wont end in a nuclear Holocaust, or even a proper world war.

North Korea has 5 primitive nukes at best.

their army is huge, but is probably malnourished to a certain extent.

it all depends on how suicidal their military are. I suspect mass defections if a war started... but who knows, the brain washing may have been very effective.

It's a bit like the Old soviet threat.

The leaders think their country is fine, but the situation in the villages is extremely bad.
But in a communist country, the bearer of bad news gets shot, so they only give the leadership good news.

So, at the most, they have very primitive nuclear weapons.
Most of their tests at long range missiles have failed.
You can forget about ICBM's.

Their main support (which is China, not Iran) has already repeatedly told them to stop this nonsense.

Oh and for Ghost:
NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.
They do not have a mandate to intervene anywhere in the world.
The intervention with mostly air support for Libya was because that's very, very close to europe.

For any military assistance, you should be looking for the UN and UN security council.
In which China no longer blocks measures towards N. Korea with it's veto power.
Which is a very very important signal towards N. Korea.
