Corporations Political Power?(TYT YouTube Video)

Postby Shadowstar1922 » 07 Apr 2013, 16:50

This matter is very important, whether you believe it or not and I am completely against it.

Obama has started to me piss me off, yet again, because now, he's going way too far favoring with the Corporations. He's now, with the European Union, pressing for a regulation act or whatever it's called, giving Corporations of America and foreign Corporations(European) the right to sue a foreign country if they disagree on if that said Corporation can build what they want to build in the country. Said Corporation can now, according to what Obama is pressing for, take nations to an International Court and sue them, and getting that countries' foreign corporation policies nullified and do not count on the said corporation. And, in this matter, the Corporations are basically acting like their own "sovereign state" like said in this video, when taking nations to the International Court.

For example, (same one used in the video I posted) the Corporation, "Johnson" wants to build factories in Panama, but Panama doesn't want to let Johnson do so. With the "old" system, Johnson would have to talk to the US Government and ask the US Government to speak with Panama in order to convince them that Johnson will do no harm and should have the rights to build what they wanna build. But, if Panama continues to say no, then Johnson cannot do anything.

Now, in this, "new system" that Obama is pushing for, put into place in the example, instead of Johnson going to the US Government, Johnson can go PASS the US Government, straight to the International Court, and SUE Panama for "discriminating" foreign corporations and since this Regulation Act sides with Corporations, Johnson would most likely win, be giving permission to build what ever they want in Panama, and Panama cannot do anything.

Obama has gone WAAAAAY to far this time, and this regulation act is completely conservative, so the Republicans will obviously side with it, and since Obama is a "Democrat", the Democratic Party will also back it up. It's almost certain the Senate will pass it, and with the European Union, they are like our dogs and will obviously agree with it too.

Share your opinion.

This is a huge issue, Frook. You don't know the possibilities on what could happen. Corporations could violate a foreign nation's policy on pollution, but since they have the International Court's permission to do so, that said Corporation could pollute as much as they can.

If a country doesn't agree with the International Court's decision, they can put economic sanctions on said country.

This is a huuuuuge issue.

As if corporations weren't telling Obama what to do in the first hand.
These news are older than civilization itself.
