There was a Lock down at School today.

Okay so I was in P.E. and we had finished our activities on the field. Everyone was heading to change in the locker rooms when a voice sounded on the loud speaker that said the school had to go on lock down. Two of the school security guards came out of no where and ushered us inside the gymnasium. The story was that the police had gotten a phone call from someone (I'm not sure if it was a man or a woman.) saying that there was a man with a gun on campus. So everyone was stuck in there for over two hours, starting at around 2:00. I wasn't scared because I was only told AFTER it happened the reason we were stuck in there like rock stars in a doctors office waiting room; out of control and really bored. and there was like, 100 of us in there. and maybe like a lucky 5% of them had brought their mp3 player to use while we were running. also there were like 4 adults in there: two gym instructors and two security guards.
Your thoughts on this? I honestly don't have any.
EDIT: #1
I forgot to mention this happened yesterday too at a different school. two, actually.
and it also happened at two schools today, mine and another.

._. That's the purpose of lock downs, to keep you say :L
Lamb hasn't had to go through an actual lock down yet... hopefully won't until I'm in military academy..
Anyways, that's why I prefer Highschool... you can bring your phones and stuff for those types of purposes... thou honestly.. You shouldn't use them during lockdowns, since they'll most likely get you killed... :L I pull out sharp objects and get close to the door... ready to pounce like a fool..

Ooh today we were going over the new lockdown procedures at our school. Instead of hiding, they've decided that they're going to announce where the intruder is in our school and it becomes the teacher's responsibility to decide whether or not the intruder is far enough away from their current location in the building to get the class out of the school building. If not then they simply hide, and if the intruder comes into a classroom with students inside of it. Procedure says to take whatever we can, throw it at the said intruder, and try to subdue him/her.
Much more efficient than the old lockdown procedure in my eyes. My 6th bell teacher even went as far as telling us about her "battle plans". We've got metal chairs, some wooden chairs that can be broken, some easily broken tables, etc.
