Divide and Conquer (subjective view)

Postby Shadow00 » 15 Jan 2014, 20:54

The title says it all.
I believe that each and every major party up to this date has absolutely no problem forming some sort of "alliance" with the opposing party, and they just split the people's views in half so that they make a fuss about the two said parties forcing voters to pick a side.
Eg, if you are of liberal ideas, you MUST vote for the liberals (no other leftist parties) so that the evil republicans won't get ahead in votes.
This not only keeps the same parties running countries for decades, but also brings about 0 new and original ideas.
Thoughts?

I personally believe that a Multi-partisan government is ineffective and detrimental to the population if there are less than 5 Major parties. In addition, I believe that a government with too many parties to actually accomplish anything creates another detrimental problem. I suggest that there is a complete and utter obliteration of any concept of having "voting parties" and simply basing your decisions on the beliefs of the candidate and your own beliefs.
