As u may have heard, the US is now helping the iraq gov deal with the IS terrorist threat. I think this is fine, however, IS has been slaughtering people in Syria as well, yet the US was/is standing by and allowing it to happen, simply because they don't like the government there. Had the US acted early and helped the Syrian gov, instead of helping the 'rebels' destroy Syria, there would be no genocide happening in Iraq right now.

The United States Congress passed legislation giving 200 million dollars to various rebel groups in Syria, and there's a big chance some of that money will be granted to ISIS.

Some Republicans have said they wanted to support ISIS in Syria, but bomb then in Iraq at the same time. Bunch of idiots

That will only create more extremist groups wanting the end and destruction of the Western World, more specifically the US and sometimes Britain.

We just need to leave the Middle East alone, have the Western powers apologize for their numerous, numerous crimes against humanity against the Middle Eastern nations, and promise to leave them be.

The intelligent and progressive and open minded leaders will eventually take hold on the nations and the radicalism will die down.

You can't push around, crush, dominate, abuse, conquer, manipulate, and utterly insult a nation nor it's people for 70+ years and when they fight back (with radicalism or not) and then you demand the bombing of their entire nation because you got your feelings hurt or they kicked you out of their country or bombed a couple of your embassies.

That doesn't make sense.

Imagine you're beating up this kid every day. a couple months later, as you're about to beat him up again, he pulls a knife on you and cuts you. It's not bad, but it hurts, and you're bleeding a lot. Then you bash his head in, curb stomp the bitch, then drive a knife into his heart because you're oh so shocked that he defended himself and oh so mad he cut you. Like, how dare he attempt to defend himself?

Who do you think is the bad person? You who tormented the kid until death, or the kid who defended himself? It may have not been the correct or safest or most right path for the kid to defend himself, but hey. It happened.

And this is how it's been in the Middle East.

Committing genocide by bombing the shit out of a country until there is nothing left is not the answer.

Agreed - most of the problems that have arisen in the middle east are a direct result of western imperial powers taking control of the region decades ago. The west needs to learn to leave the middle east alone. That said, a group such as IS needs to be removed from existence - I have no idea what they have in mind, but they must realise, no matter how successful they are, they will never be able to form any kind of government, they will eventually be wiped out and die the martyrs death they cherish.

Yeah, there's all that, we all hate ISIS yeah, but now there's that stuff about James Foley and the video...I don't think ISIS is leaving anytime soon.
