If I'm honest, I'm a little surprised that even the lower level of parliament in France has recognised Palestine as a state-although I would be VERY surprised if the government did this like Sweden did. I don't even think Britain's government would do it.
Netanyahu threatening the west by calling France's vote 'a grave mistake' is disgusting considering that Israel keep pushing into Palestine's territory when they have no right to. The way I see it, it's clear that Israel is the terrorist in this case and I'm glad at least some action is being taken by the European governments.
THAAAANNK YOU people can never see it. i mean the death ratio between palestinians and jews is for every one jew that has died, 43 palestinians die. but people in my school always say, "yeah but imo israel is a needed ally and if america stops supporting israel, israel won't fall, no one is going to invade israel. almost every country that has a good military in the middle east has either become friends with israel, or signed non-aggression pacts with israel, or their leaders have said they do not play on invading israel. so.

I admit that Hamas have been aggressive in the past but I think it's incomparable to the aggression Israel has shown to not only Hamas but CIVILIANS of Palestine-there is never an excuse to target civilians. I think you mean Israeli instead of Jew, because I think Jews around the world are facing criticism because of the actions of Israel. I found a transcript of a lecture from a Rabbi that seems to clear things up pretty well. ' early Zionists were immediately opposed by the Rabbinic Leadership of that era.
The opposition was based on four assumptions.
1) The very concept of Zionism was a refutation of the traditional Torah belief in exile as punishment and redemption and as dependant on penitence and Divine intervention.
2) The Zionists were overwhelmingly irreligious. There claim to represent the Jewish people before the world was preposterous. How can those who reject Judaism be Jewish leaders? Their natural instincts were to uproot Torah and its observance.
3) Zionism was woefully unconcerned about non – Jews in general and the Palestinian people already living in the land. Its heavy - handed policies were sure to cause much pain and suffering and lead world Jewry into needless conflict with the nations of the world.
4) Zionism would cause Jews to be less than loyal to the governments under whose auspices they lived in exile. This might weaken Jewish patriotism and exacerbate Jewish – Gentile conflicts.' and ' Of course, in the Torah view the very notion of Jewish sovereignty of any kind over the Holy Land is forbidden. We note that even those who desired some degree of Jewish return – saw this – provided they had some basic decency, as something that had to be worked out with the approval of the native Palestinian people.' Source: http://nkusa.org/AboutUs/Zionism/index.cfmI never believe in generalising people but unfortunately, a lot of people I've heard generalise all Jews with Zionists and I don't think it's fair at all.
Oh, i wasn't generalizing all the Jewish people, I probably should've stuck with Israeli, my bad. I've heard of people of the Jewish faith from all over the world critize Israel's actions in August. American Jewish Actors, Canadian Jewish actors, British Jewish Actors, South American Jewish actors, it was astounding. I was shocked. A lot of my Jewish friends a school hate the Israeli government so much because they're still Zionist.
