The Phoenix Project

Postby Shadow00 » 17 Dec 2014, 23:43

This has literally nothing to do with politics wars or whatever.

This is about a movie coming out. Yeah,a movie in serious discussion.
If you've seen Primer, this is of the same style and definitely when it comes out it'll be a huge topic for conversations.
If not, well, see it but you won't understand a thing if you read this now.

So anyways, basic plot points are similar, as in 4 guys, 1 machine.

Now though, instead of time travel and all of the possibilities we are presented with reanimating deceased organisms. Hence the movies title.
It already has a trailer out and it has this great vibe to it, as I hoped.

So pretty much as primer started the whole "is time travel OK" discussion (at least for me it did, that movie pretty much got me into science, buff said) this movie gets us technically a bit closer to reality.
Should we or should we not reanimate dead things if we want to? What will come of it? Damn I'm really interested in seeing what they come up with

it all depends upon the soul. Is there a soul or not. If u reanimate something soulless, what will be the result?

I say if ur dead, stay dead.

Soul is abstract. Who knows if it actually is a thing you can have (or, in this case, lack)?

I say test it on animals. Grab some dead rats from the laboratory warehouse or something. Bring them to life. Observe results. Eventually move on to bigger subjects. How would it be done? Would their organs be retained? If so, would there be a limit to when it could be done due to the rapid deterioration of the organs after death? Could this open up possibilities in cryogenics for people to be frozen alive and be reanimated a certain time later? In the event a truly great person dies, would we bring them back? Would they be different? Is it morally correct? This raises so many questions, so many possibilities with just the broad idea. I'll need more information.

from my understanding of religion and spirituality, and talking to the local priests of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Buddhism, the soul is you, the self thinking entity you are, and you simply govern the body God or some other higher being has granted your soul. body and soul are not one, and Christianity and Judaism claims your soul goes to heaven, while for Islam it claims body and soul. So what this means?? i think it means that when you go to heaven or hell or whatever, your soul leaves your body and manifests into whatever you really look like, all your characteristics and who says this is human? or just a floating ghost? or made a sickass dragon?? idk.for muslims body and soul go together so you look as you do now and maybe your soul manifests too and adds some features that are better you. I DON'T KNOW. this part no one knows and all the priests i talked to have different opinion and interpretations.

( i apologize for my poor grammar i rushed this one really bad)
