I'm 80% certain North Korea wouldn't start something, unless they knew they had the backing of either Russia or China, or both. Sure, they could take the South Korean army easily, but the US would almost definitely back them, probably followed by the UK and others. It's 50:50 whom Russia and China would back, my guess being that Russia would support North Korea supplies-wise but not military, whilst China would stay out of it until it started to tip one way or the other, when they would stage a military intervention, much like they did in the last Korean War.
With their current capabilities in terms of weapons of mass destruction, that's not really something to be worried about either. They own a big fat zero ICBMs and a few nuclear weapons (which are at absolute most ~40 kilotons [i.e. tiny], the biggest of which repeatedly failing tests, meaning that the best one which actually works can get just over halfway to Thailand), and a further zero fusion weapons (i.e. the big ones that explode in a mushroom cloud). Regardless, any country they would want to target would A) carry out a preemptive strike and B) blow anything they sent at them out of the sky with an ABM.
TL;DR - Imo, there's an 80% chance they wouldn't try anything.
