yep... just another thing to watch out for... these freaky scientists always finding links between one thing and another and assuming that link means something.

basically eating anything in excess will probably kill you.

Seems ridiculous that they are now pushing the link between these meats and cancer now. Though considering my cowspiracy post of a few weeks ago, it might be good for the world if we stopped eating so much meat.

the reason why it's highly cancerous is bc a lot of unnatural hormones are pumped into meats and they are foreign to the human body. read meat itself does not cause cancer, but the specific hormones and GMOs used on food causes it.

also i forgot where, but i think it was in China where they studied people with peanut butter allergies. The scientists would make all natural homemade peanutbutter and then they would buy store bought brand name peanutbutter. Giving both to people with peanut allergies, they found out like 20-30% of people with peanut allergies were not allergic to all natural peanut butter. they went further into it and found a lot of them were allergic to the specific hormones and other artificial substances put into the peanut butter.

it's all about pumping these foreign stuff into our food to make them bigger and better.

There's nothing to suggest that red meats "probably cause cancer" is linked to any hormones that may or may not be pumped into the meats. Hell the link between meats is questionable right now and can be proven wrong. On their site the WHO says Limited Evidence repeatedly to show that these results are based on limited Samples, meaning future tests could prove some of this wrong.



Regardless, this is just a topic that's being over-sensationalized by the media. Processed meats increase the chance of getting colorectal cancer by 18% for every 50 Grams of processed meats you eat.

This site is probably a good estimate of how likely you are to get said Cancer. Let's say the current risk without eating processed meats is 1.26% at age 60. If eating processed meats increases your risk of getting colorectal cancer by 18% eating 50 Grams would increase you chance to 1.262268% of getting it.
Essentially as long as your diet doesn't include a large amount of processed meats and maybe red meats. You're good. You can eat meat without much worry.

I think it's just ridiculous that they come up with anything like this. The best thing to do is simply to encourage people to have a balanced diet. Telling people that this or that can cause cancer when the risk is uncertain and extremely small is a waste of time. Tell people when there is an immediate and strong chance that something bad is going to happen. blargh.

It generates views. Makes money. It's the same thing with the police brutality cases and the focus on mass killings despite gun related deaths being lower than they've ever been.
