Donald Trump calls for ban on Muslims entering US

Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump has called for a "total and complete shutdown" on all Muslims entering the United States.

In a statement distributed to the press, Mr Trump said polling showed a "hatred" by Muslims toward Americans that could result in more attacks.

"Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension," he said.

"Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine.

"Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life."

The billionaire real estate mogul made the statement after a new poll showed senator Ted Cruz leading the field of Republican presidential contenders in the politically crucial state of Iowa.

The poll — the first in which Mr Cruz has led the field — showed the Texas senator with 24 per cent support from voters who intend to take part in the February 1, 2016 Iowa caucuses, the first real measure of voter support in the 2016 presidential campaign.

Mr Trump was second with 19 per cent support.

lol no it's not. a lot of his believers and people of other ideologies firmly believe this. Sadly, islamophobia is not excluded to one ideology in the states. A huge portion of liberals are islamophobic too.

I agree, but most of the phobics out there cannot openly support Trumpy and are closet isamophobes. I don't think the republican party as a whole can now sit back and say "this man represents ALL of us and our philosophy"

Mr. Trump needs a small loan of drop out of the presidential race.
This is ridiculous, just because these people are of the Muslim faith does not mean that they are absolutely gonna be terrorists.
It's stupid how after all these years of America fighting t be a better country, and to have 'equal rights' for every man woman and child, yet jackasses like Trump are gonna try and ban these people from entering our Borders????

So a petition to ban Trump from the UK has so nearly hit half a million signatures, meaning it has more than any other petition ever delivered to the UK government and will be the first in UK history to hit 500,000 signatures. So much so that the decision to ban Donald Trump from the UK will actually be debated in Parliament on January 5th.

So for all we know, someone could just be using a bunch of spam bots or something, sadly online petitions aren't to be taken seriously for that reason alone.
Nice from the UK Parliament though, I'm certain they'd prefer the public to focus on trump rather than the bullocks they've been speaking about these past months.
