turkey was/is heading in the wrong direction. WIth this coup, I think it will push the islamist agenda of the pres and anyone who is secular will be cleansed from power.

Considering how inconsistent and poorly done, the coup was most likely staged by Erdogan in order to seek more power and more control in the country. Unlike in most countries, coups are executed in many ME democratic states in order to restore proper elections and kind of reset the corruption, if that makes any sense. Allows fresh new blood in the political system and opens more discussion up too.

This military coup, however, was just poorly executed, not consistent with other historic coups and didnt even try tbh. Also saying they did not allow airplanes when Erdogan was flying a plane too? They should have shot him down. They would have if it was an authentic coup.

idk.

Erdogan is a monster and when I heard the coup happened I got incredibly excited to see that racist sexist homophobic coward get arrested and sentence to jail. But nope.

I really hope the YPG assassinates him or something. Maybe Russia too? Idk.
