Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher in ICU after in-flight 'cardiac episode'

Postby Dr Frook » 24 Dec 2016, 18:42

this is scary, Princess leia had a heart attack :(

Actress Carrie Fisher remains in a critical condition in an intensive care unit (ICU), her brother said, following media reports she had a "cardiac episode" during a flight from London to Los Angeles.

The 60-year-old, best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars movie series, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after landing, media including the Los Angeles Times and TMZ reported, citing emergency officials and anonymous sources.

Her brother, Todd Fisher, disputed earlier reports he said she was stable.

"It's not fair to say 'stable'. I am not saying she is fine, or not fine," he said.

"She is in the ICU."

He said he was driving to pick up their mother, veteran entertainer Debbie Reynolds, but gave no further details about her condition.

A Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman confirmed emergency medical personnel met an arriving flight at the airport to treat a patient in "cardiac arrest", rendering "immediate advanced life support" to the patient before the individual was taken to a hospital.

But the spokesman declined to provide any information about the identity, age or gender of the patient, or other circumstances, citing medical confidentiality laws.

TMZ said the medical emergency occurred about 15 minutes before the plane landed at Los Angeles International Airport, and that an emergency medical technician who was on board came up to the first-class cabin to render assistance to the actress and writer.

United Airlines issued a statement saying that Flight 935 from London to Los Angeles was met on the ground by medical personnel after the crew reported that a passenger was "unresponsive," but the airline did not name the stricken passenger.

such an icon.. such a woman.. she will be missed dearly. i cant get the link to the image on my phone, but she said no matter how she died, she wants people to say she was found drowned in moonlight, strangled by her own bra.

How unfortunate that Debbie Reynolds went along with her daughter earlier today. :\
Odd how my mother talked to me earlier today how she believes all parents wish they could go before they're children.
I've lost my pieces.

May they both Rest in Peace. Two very talented women in their fields, they truly will be missed by so many people.
In Caries's own words: "I'll be back". Yes you will, I'm sure you'll be popping up in the new star wars films despite your early departure.
May the force be with you...

Not sure if its such a good idea to create a completely digital version of her.... but it worked nicely in Rogue One
